im 16, and i know that a million people are going to tell me thia is unhealthy, ive been doing it for a week, and actually feel great! i only eat when im hungry and i try to eat foods that are low in fat!. so ive been eating a lot of vegetables, protein and fish! i never feel hungry, nor tried! plus ive been trying to bik ride as often as i can, so far i havnt been able to that much!.
anyhow will i lose weight on this diet!.!.about how much can i lose in a month in a half!?
please dont tell me i will gain it all back, ive hear dthis a million times and im not going to because i will be exercising a lot during teh school year and i will not adapt my unhealthy eating habits again!.
this is not just weight loss for me but a life style change!.
i want to lose 20 pounds, about how long will that take me!?!.!.!.

The average person requires 2000 calories a day, this is usually the healthy amount because the average non-active person is going to burn 2000 calories a day!. So combine 2000 calories plus however many calories you are burining everyday from exercise, then subtract that from 800 and this will give you the amount of calories you are losing everyday!.

Lets say hypothetically you are burning 500 calories a day from exercise, add this with the 2000 calories you are naturally going to burn everyday and this will put you at 2500 calories!. 2500- 800= 1700!.

Now, 3500 calories equals 1 pound!. So you would be burning about 1 pound in 2 days!. So 20 pounds would take approximately 40 days to lose!.

***However, you ALREADY seem to know that this is both illadvised and unhealthy!. Ur body will not respond well after a week or so on this routine, and of course you know you run the risk of gaining it back fast if you resume a regular diet!. I would not do this for this amount of time, but you have to do what you want!!

nobody can tell you how much you will lose but if we consider that you have to burn 3500 for a pound and you are eating just 800 calories a day and you need 2000 calories a day(1200 deficit),in 45 days you will lose 15 pounds!.for 20 pounds it will take almost 2 months!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You might lose some pounds now but you'll pack it all back on later when you start eating normally again and not as muscle but as fat since your body will want to store every nutrient it gets in case it doesn't get any more for some time!.
Fasting which is basically what you're doing, destroys muscle since it is broken down for food by your body!. Not only does that make you weaker but muscle burns up calories by simply being there!. Thereby if you start eating normally again one day, your body won't need as much and will simply turn the excess into fat!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Sorry to say, but once you loose the 20 pounds, you wont be able to maintain it !.!. you will most likely gain it all back plus more!. If you want to loose weight, i suggest you loose two pounds a week!. the biking and eating protein and fish is great! so dont change that part!. but you should eat about 1800 calories to keep your metabolism going!. if you dont do this soon, your metabolism will slow down and you will end up gaining!. but its great that you only eat when your hungry and you pick healthy choicces!. but make sure to include some treats so your body wont crave it!.

try having a few small meals every day


ex meal plan:
breakfast: egg beaters (mic with veggies and turkey)
whole grain toast
snack: fig newtons
lunch: saled, tuna or chicken mixed in, almonds and dressing
also have a sweet potatoe
snack: rice krispy and some milk
dinner: chicken, whole weat rice, veggies

First of all, I think eating only when you're hungry, eating low fat foods (especially veggies and fish), and exercising are great ideas! Good for you for making healthy choices!

However, 800 calories a day isn't nearly enough for you!. ESPECIALLY if you are active!. I think you should focus less on how many calories you are consuming, and more on making healthy choices!. You especially need calories if you are exercising and since your body is still growing!.

I think if you eat healthily (but don't deprive yourself!) and exercise you will be surprised at how much better your clothes fit!. Don't focus on the weight loss because by exercising you will be building muscle, which weighs more than fat!. Focus more on how you feel, how your clothes fit, things like that!.

Well, 800 calories is a little low!. You're definitely going to lose weight eating so few calories!. The recommended daily allowance of calories is 2000 calories!. I think with the kind of strenous activities you're doing 800 calories definitely isn't enough!.

My advice to you is to consider eating about 1500 calories a day and try eating maybe five or six smaller meals throught the day!. I'd say set-up an account on fitday dot com and count your calories each day!. My concern isn't so much the calorie intake it could be the lack of nutrients which can wreck havoc on a girl your age's body!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
