How long should I walk for? When Will I see great results( 2 weeks, 1 month?) What should I eat more of and less of? Oh and is it true you must not eat fruits after 3pm and why not?

Answers:

Any increase in activity from your current will help you get in shape. Do what you have to, to get you started soon that one day a week of cheating won't happen when you start to realize that the walking and eating right are working.

Walk for as long as you can, as fast as you can without pain with the exception of muscle aches which is a sign that it's working.

Don't aim to much on see result for the first couple of months, In my opinion getting into the habit of making time for a workout or excercise will be the first hurdle to get over. Visable result could start to appear after the first month depending on how strenuous the excercise is.

Eat more food from the outside of the grocery store. Meaning don't go up and down the isles to shop. Shop from the fresh produce/ meats/ dairy. I suggest keeping a food journal of everything you eat as well, logging the Calories, fats, protiens, Carbs, and cholesterol you consume. You'd be surprised at how much you probably consume. If you like to eat fruit as a snack by all means eat them, anytime you want, it's better than Ice cream or chips to snack on.

The suggestion above makes sence on limiting the amount of sugars you consume later in the day when people typically become less active. Sugar turns to fat when it isn't being used.

Do things one step at a time as well. Don't try changing to many things in your lifestyle all at once, this is what typically makes diet and excercise more difficult to maintain.

In my experience, after I started to get in the habit of going to the gym regularly thats when I really started to concentrate on my diet, because it's easier to accomplish your goals one step at a time.

BTW: Psychologically it it typiccaly takes 21 days to form a habit.
