Any ideas to cure or improve the inner upper arms? I always?!

Question:

Any ideas to cure or improve the inner upper arms? I always?

dreaded the thought of having flabby upper inner arms and now I have....not fat but they look awful. Tried all the suggestions like weights etc, but obviously not working. Ideas welcomed....thank you.

Answers:

The Tricep is in three parts; 'standard' exercises don't activate it all. Weights WILL work, if you target the muscle properly.

One part of the muscle goes right across the shoulder muscle, and attaches to the shoulder-blade. You can make sure this part is properly worked, by doing overhead tricep extensions with a dumb-bell (sometimes called 'french presses)

You need to start with your elbow as high as you can get it, and a (light) weight resting on the back of your neck. Your upper arm shouldn't move at all, as you straighten your arm. You finish in a 'black panther salute' position, with your arm straight up in the air, and slowly bend the elbow so that the weight returns to your neck (gently). Start by doing two or three at a time; make sure your breathing is free and your neck is relaxed, and increase the number of repetitions as you get used to the movement.

This exercise targets the inner part of the tricep; if you do too many, you'll ache most on the inside of your arm. The inner part of your Bicep also operates differently to the outer part. It helps to rotate the forearm, when you turn your palm upwards. Doing bicep curls with a twisting action, will target the inner part of the bicep, and this will improve tone and strength in your inner upper arm.
