Muscle question - running?!

Question: Muscle question - running!?
I cannot run for the next few months due to tendonitis of my knee!. My physio says to avoid any lower body work outs and to concentrate on swimming which is great!. What I wanted to know is, if I just do swimming and upper body weight work out will the muscles in my calves/thighs reduce!? I've always had muscular legs and one of the instructors at my gym said I would lose muscle definition in my legs while resting up!. This is not such a bad thing for me as I'd love to reduce the size of them! Is this likely to happen!? ThanksWww@Answer-Health@Com

Have you heard of Dara Torres, the 41 yo American swimmer!? Check out this website!.!.!.she got ripped from swimming!.

If you swim properly, your legs will still get exercise!. It's a very low strain, repetitive exercise!. Your legs won't get flabby if you keep up with it!. You will get flabby if you sit on your couch for the next 3 months and do nothing!. You accumulate fat by not exercising!.

It's not certain that your legs will shrink any, but they will stay toned and not get larger!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

yes!. If you stop using certain muscles, those muscles will slim down!. Swimming does work all of your muscles in your body though!. Since you have tendontis and need specials excercises, your legs will loose strengh; that happened to me when I broke a knee ligament and had to take it easy for a year!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You'll lose definition for sure!.!.!.and while that sounds all well and good because you want to reduce their size, instead of big muscular legs, you'll have smaller, flabby legs!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes you will lose some definition but even every day use will use your muscles to some extent therefore keeping them ticking over!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
