Question: My Sister is Fat 270 lbs- how do I help her!?
My sister is 25 yrs old and she's 5'8" tall and about 265 lbs!.!.!.
I'm 160 lbs and 5'7" so i'm not skinny but i'm trying to lose weight too! It's just that, every time I break my diet or have a weak moment, SO DOES SHE! She thinks if I broke mine she gets to break hers!. It's like she isn't even worried about her health!. She acts like we're the same person and it makes me feel responsible for her breaking her diet everytime too!. I know i'm not thin but she is in more serious health problems seeing as how shes only 30 lbs away from being 300 lbs!. Neither of us can stay on a diet for more than a day!.!.!.!.I know it's hard for me because I always break my diet at night!. like yesturday I went walking for 2 and a half hrs an did 30 min of cardio step aerobics then at night all hell broke lose and i ate everything!.!.!.!.then today i'll be fasting to make up for yesturday!.!.!.!.

I know we're both addicted to food and sugar

Well first off, Dont call your sister fat, she has a problem!. You need to help her alot if she cant do this on your own!. And it will end up healping you as well!. Now you both need to understand that this cant be a diet, it needs to be a lifestyle, if its a diet, you might lose the weight but how much will you weight in a few weeks after you stop the diet!? Back where you began or worse!.

Start eating healthy and staty away from sugar, the only reason you binge and have more sugar is ecuase you probably had a bite of some sugar and that causes your body to crave more and then you stuff your face with it!.

So if you stay away from it (preferably get rid of all candy,ice cream, chips in the house) and start eating healthier, maybe have some wheat thins if your in the mood for chips, or have some cheese and crackers (low fat) if in the modd for some other snack!.
Measure out your food, serving size
drink lots of water
dont eat later than 7 p!.m!.
Try to get a little exercise in your day!.
Try to help your sister more, maybe help watch what goes in her mouth, ( i have to do the same with my brother, 13 yrs, 170, 5'1) Lost some weight already!.
Have a healthy sandwhich, like a turkey/ham sandwhich with some mustard on WHEAT BREAD!. NEVER WHITE!!
have some wheat thins or an apple on the side!.
And for supper have what your family makes or have a frozen dinner (lean cuisene/healthy choice) doing that for 3-4 days having it for lunch and dinner made me lose 4 pounds in a little over a week!.

You need will power to do this and really want it!. I am 14 and lost 25 pounds and still losing and have not binged once, I want this so bad to be skinny that I eat on schedule and eat healthy!. You can treat yourself every so often but dont go big or start binging!.

Your very kind to woryy about your sister, but if she ant start doing it herself then there is not much you can do!. My mom is obese and she cant do a diet either!. She used to be so tiny but lost herself becuase she got depressed!. Dont let that happen to your sister!. Please take care of her and most importantly, take care of yourself!. I know you can do this, just dont give up, you will gain so often but dont give up or take it personally, maybe you had a bad week (stress) or snacked too much!.

I would do some research on the health problems associated with being over weight!. Print some stuff out (perhaps pictures of clogged arteries and some literature) and hang it around the house!.

Eat lots of fruits and vegetables!. Drink 8 glasses of water a day!. Drink green tea, will help increase metabolism!. Stay away from sugars and starches!. Excercise at least 30 minutes a day!. Well for one you can start by saying my sister is overweight!.!.fat is an ugly word!. Who do you live with!? I would lock the food up at night give someone who doesnt have a problem the key that way you cant eat then she wont follow what your doing!. If her health is that bad and shes failing on her diets then maybe surgery would be the way for her to go!. The lapband is probably the safiest way to go!. Where you both checked for your health!? Thyroid, Diabetes!? Go out buy an outfit that you just have to have!.!.call it inspiration!. Get it 2 sizes to small or whatever your goal is and work to wanting to fit in it and wear it!. First of all, she is responsible for anything she does, not you!. She's the only one who can do anything about her weight!. If she's not committed, there's nothing you can do about it!.
