Answers:
While Omega fatty acids seem to be all the rage right now, there is very little conclusive (albeit promising) evidence on their effects!.

Omega 3s are likely the fatty acid you're most interested in for health benefits!. There are three types: EPA, DHA and ALA!.

EPA and DHA are the only fatty acids to conclusively show any major health benefits, and those are in relation to cardiovascular health!. The reason for the greater health benefits likely comes from their structural makeup, as DHA and EPA both have chains roughly twice as long as ALA's!. There are a number of promising studies that link DHA and EPA to decreased risks of a number of diseases, from alzheimers to depression to hypertension!. The best way, in my opinion, to get those is from fish oil - look for a pill with a combined 500 mg of both EPA and DHA!.

ALA is the other Omega 3, and it is found from plant foods!. A great way to get ALA is from nuts or seeds, the most popular likely being from ground flaxseed (which also packs a heavy fibre punch) or flax oil!.

You shouldn't really worry about getting enough Omega 6s - a balanced diet will always see you getting Omega 6s!. What you should be aiming for is to try and balance your Omega 3s and 6s as much as possible!. You won't be able to bring them into balance, but the closer the better, as it appears that Omega 6s can cause inflammation, while Omega 3s have anti-inflammatory properties!. This is important as chronic inflammation is linked to a number of health ailments, including cancer!.

This is just a brief overview, but if you're interested in learning more, Men's Health had an interesting, while perhaps sensational, article on Omega 3s, specifically DHA and EPA, which is located here: http://www!.menshealth!.com/cda/article!.do!.!.!.

As well, Nutrition Action, which is published by the Center for Science in the Public Interest is a great place to find a balanced insight into any aspect of nutrition!. You can find articles by googling Nutrition Action!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You probably get enough omega-6s already, so I would not focus on eating more of those, but the way to get more omega-3s in your life is by eating lots of fish & using flaxseed oil as a dressing or using flaxseeds as an add-on to cereal(whole grain cereal of course)!.!.!. and the way to get more omega-9s in your life is by using olive oil instead of butter, eating nuts instead of chips and using avocado instead of mayonnaise (on your WHOLE GRAIN bread)!.!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

fish, soy, mushrooms, beans and raw nuts!.!.they stabilize your hormones and safeguard your joints and muscles!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
