I would invest in a protein shake to have right after your workouts. I'm talking a quality protein powder with 50 grams of protein and over 100 grams of carbs. This is assuming you are a mass builder. The carbs are most important, but of course you need the protein.

I suggest downing at least 80 grams of protein daily for the muscle (that would be at least 560 grams per week) along with hundreds of carbs. Carbs are your main source of energy, and the protein will be used up as energy and not a muscle builder if you don't have enough carbohydrates.

Drink plenty of water (10-15 cups) in any high protein diet.
