I'm skinny. How should I become more defined?!

Question: I'm skinny!. How should I become more defined!?
I'm male, 26 years old, 145 lbs, and 5'10'' -- thin, and out of shape!. Basically, I want to get back in shape and build muscle (nothing huge, just more defined, toned, tighter, etc!.) So if you saw me, you would think "Oh, that guy looks fit!." Instead of thinking, "Hey skinny guy," like you think now!.

I feel that being skinny is an advantage; I don't have to lose a lot of weight first, I just need to put muscle on!. I'm fairly athletic with cycling and swimming, but no regular routine!. I eat decently, but definitely not great!.

In addition to an exercise routine, should I adopt a higher protein, leaner, 6 meals a day diet!? It seems like I hear that this is a much healthier way to eat!.

I'm interested in hearing what recommendations people have, and you would go about doing what I'm thinking here!. I'm new to the regular fitness world, but very eager to get going!.

Thanks!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Typically you'd been looking to get to about 170lb in order for people to stop thinking that you look skinny!. Of course that should be lean weight not just adding fat!. People who know you will see the change and be surprised by it!.

Your current exercise routine is probably not going to help you add weight - but it could!. Take the cycling, check out the olympic sprinters and compare them to the long distance cyclists - notice the difference!? Be aware that if you train for endurance with long cardio workouts then that is what you will get, and not muscle mass!.

That you are that weight means that you aren't eating properly!. So first up you have to improve your diet and start eating more!. The six meal is your best answer simply because it's the easiest way to eat more - trying to eat bigger meals is hard for a skinny guy!. You will have to eat even when you aren't hungry!. Your poor diet is going to be a big obstacle for you to get over!.

Exercise for bulk means heavy weights for low reps!. Forget isolation exercises, crunches that sort of stuff!. You will need access to weights because doing it without is very hard!. Free weights are better than machines and can be found second hand if you take the time!.

Both of the above however won't do anything for you without commitment, and this is where you will succeed or fail!. To bulk is going to take time - months and months of effort, effort that will have you wishing that you hadn't started!. You need to get your headspace right to begin with, to know why you want to change!. When you are staring at the weights, your stomach a little queasy and really not wanting to lift you have to have the motivation to still go and do that!. That is what makes the difference between someone who stays skinny and someone who overcomes and succeeds!.

One thing I'll pick you up on is that you've got to stop thinking that being skinny is an advantage for anything!. I know you didn't mean it quite like that, but even thinking that will sabotage your motivation as soon as the going gets tough!. You will add fat as you train!. Trying to add just muscle without any fat is likely to sabotage your results!. I don't mean you should add a lot of fat, but you've got to stop being afraid of the extra weight!. Any fat you pick up on the way can be lost once you've bulked!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

if you want to be normal you have to eat but not too much like candy can make normal weight if you become normal you have to do alot of excersise for you to be strongeWww@Answer-Health@Com

Yep do that diet take in little calories cut out all the bad foods and lower your body fat percentage and you will be more toned!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Eating is the first and most important factor that is needed for proper weight gain!. It's simple - you need to eat more calories than you burn!. This does not mean eating anything and everything that is not nailed down!. Carefully plan your meals with foods that will help you gain lean mass, not fat!. I suggest 6 meals!. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, and three other small meals scheduled throughout the day!. The goal is to eat every 2!.5 to 3 hours!.
Focus on foods such as steak, chicken, fruit, milk, vegetables, cheese and assorted types of nuts!. It's recommended to eat 4 - 6 pieces of fresh fruit a day, and at least four tall glasses of milk!. Milk is a great, cheap protein source - take advantage of it!. A sample snack meal would be a glass of milk, an apple, and a hand full of peanuts!.

Bah I hate guys that go

"too much muscle is ugly"

Are you afraid of going to work because you might get too rich !?

They might accidentaly promote you to CEO !?

Nothing happens without hard work, you will not get HOOOOGE on accident fool!.

Let me tell you a little secrete, your body will not grow past its genetic limit!.

At which point too much muscle is detrimental to quality of life, and your body will not grow past that point without steroids, and insulin, and GH

If you dont take steroids or other drugs you CAN NOT get too big, you body simply cant do it!.

You get in the gym and you eat a strict diet and you work your *** off and you might see some cuts in a few months!.

It takes years to build a quality body!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

First of all, to build muscle you have to be in calorie surplus, so you need to eat more than you burn off!. Try a diet with an intake of about 45% carbs, 35% protein and about 20% fat!. That seems to be the way to go for gaining muscle now i've heard!.

Secondly, to gain average muscle mass, i suggest starting to lift weights in the 6-10 rep range!. Make sure you lift equally, remembering not to neglet some muscle groups!. By all means focus on what is more important to you, without negleting anything!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

First set yourself a goal!. How much weight to you want to put on!? Secondly, if its muscle you want to build, that is where you start!. You will get better results if you either put on muscle, or lose fat, rather than both at the same time!.

If you are going to build muscle you need to increase the amount of carbs you eat as well as protein!. Carbs will provide your muscles with the energy to lift weights!.

Deadlift, Squat and Bench Press are the 3 most important exercises!. These must be part of your routine!. Do them on seperate days!. Muscles require rest in order to grow!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
