Im 16 and ive been working out about 2 years why cant i get my abs?!

Question:

Im 16 and ive been working out about 2 years why cant i get my abs?

well i was skinny when i started working out and still am... but everything is perfect besides my lower abs... for some reason there is still a small ammount of fat which i cant seem to get rid of... is this because i need to get older and taller to make it go away or am i doing something wrong? i do cardio 3-5 times a week and i weightlift about 3 days a week. my mid and upper abs are amazing but lower ones are very irritating even though they are pretty hard and it may not even be that i have fat on the abs its like fat on the sides... is this maybe because i sit a lot besides working out?

I'm 16 also and abs have never been a problem for me. Yes we're both still growing so don't worry that skin will stretch out, but you do need something to fill the skin with.

What you need to is do a complete sit up, not a crunch. This means moving your head all the way to your knees. Doing this works your lower abdominals.

Since you are just starting what I would suggest is do 10 sit-ups when you wake up and before bed every night for 3 days. After those 3 days increase the amount to 12 - 15 based on what you think you can do, do those 12 -15 sit-ups for another 3 days. After that increase your amount to 16 - 20 sit ups. By this point your abdominals will be gaining a lot more stamina and so you may increase your sit up amount maybe by even a whole 10. Repeat this until you have the desired amount of muscle you want.

And in your weight lifting, if you are using a weight machine for abs. Do more repetitions on a lower weight for muscle strength and tone. If you want larger muscle mass increase your weight more and due less reps.
