Why am I getting worse at running?!

Question: Why am I getting worse at running!?
I'm a beginner in cross country!. I have been running for about a month!. I improved a lot last week!. But this week, I seem to be getting worse everyday!. My endurance is pretty good but my feet and legs get super tired within minutes!. What could be the cause of my downfall!? What should I do!? Also, how do I stop pounding when I'm running!? I'm 5'1 and 100 pounds so I'm not overweight!. I eat normally and I get enough sleep!. I try to pace myself slow but it's not working!. I'm getting really depressed because I could beat at least 4 girls and now I'm the next to worst!. I can't keep up with anyone!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I was an avid runner for 5 years thru middleschool and all highschool!. Running is a difficult sport in that you can't always perform your best everday because running is really hard and pacing a distance race perfectly is near impossible!. As for you, you might have done something in your diet or sleep or overtraining or something, however everyone has slumps in running!. One week you might run a 21:30 in a 5k and next week run a 24:00 in a 5k!. Running is a difficult sport and only the really good runners are consitent, so don't worry about it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It sounds like you may need more carbohydrates in your diet!. Not a ton more, but some!. Eat an apple 30 minutes prior to running, have a serving of rice sometime during the day!.!.!.do this in addition to your regular diet!. Make sure you're getting enough water, too!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Sounds like there are couple of things going on!. First, you probably need to adjust your diet!. Cross country running is aerobic so you need to increase the amount of fat you take in!. When you start running you use carbohydrates for a fuel source but once you have been running for a while your fuel source converts to fat and if you do not have enough fat then you will get very tired and your performance will suffer!. Next, you should start to do a couple of days of weight training per week!. Stay away from leg exercises but your should start doing some upper body exercises!.

Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com
