Mom wants me to lose weight, Dad wants me to gain?!


Question: Mom wants me to lose weight, Dad wants me to gain!?
One way or the other, one of them is bound to go ape sh!.it on me!. I'm nearly sixteen, and I am around 155 cm tall (roughly around 5'1" or 5'2"), and weigh 47-48 kg (roughly around 103-105 lbs!.), my pants size are around a size 2 or 3!. My mom makes me feel really overweight, even though I'm fine with the way I look now, and my dad insists that I gain weight!. Nothing I do would please the both of them, so I'm pretty much screwed either way!. What would you do!? :(Www@Answer-Health@Com

What do you want to do!? If you are happy with your weight, and you are healthy (which you sound like you are) then you need to do neither!. Just stay at whatever you are currently doing!. Don't gain nor lose!. Tell your mom how she is making you feel, most women (especially moms) don't realize they make eachother feel that way when they are doing it, if she understands how it is affecting you maybe she will be more careful about what she says and does!. For your dad, he is just being a dad and trying to protect you from whatever he is worried about, thats what dads do! Good luck to you, the smartest decision for you is to just be healthy =)

I understand that at 16 pleasing your parents is important, and the most important thing to a teen is not to piss your parents off, bc face it!.!.!. you don't want to be in trouble!. I think that if your parents are that serious about you losing/ gaining weight you should tell them that you are comfortable with yourself and thats all that matters!. Perhaps you should also tell them that they are confusing you and stressing you out by telling you to do different things!. As long as you are healthy (which seeming by your height and weight, you are) then they should have no problem, unless their concerns are health related instead of based on vanity!. Your BMI is 17!.1 and you are at a healthy weight!. Maybe your mom is self conscious about herself but it is not good for her to urge you to lose weight when you are healthy!. It does not give you a good body image!. I would sit down with both your parents and explain that you are at a healthy weight and that you are happy with yourself!. Your parents are only trying to do what is best for you, but when it comes to things like this, you need to do what you're happy with, and your parents should understand it!. A size 2 is hardly overweight, but if you feel uncomfortable with yourself, perhaps you could tone up, not loose weight!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well, you are definately not overweight!. A girl who is 5'0" should weight around 100 pounds, and you can add five pounds for each extra inch to get an approximate weight!. So I've heard!. Don't try to lose weight!. If you're fine with the way you are, that is all that matters!. Try to get your parents to see that!. Listen to your dad!.!. Usually men see more realistically!. women have altered perception!.!. But you are tiny!.!. You sound like you are a cute size!.!. but like your dad says!.!. it probably wouldnt be too bad for you to gain weight!.!. I know that is your mom!.!. but she is trippin!.!. YOU ARE TINY!.
