Any good dieting tips?!

Question:

Any good dieting tips?

I gained a lot of wait over the past year and I really would like to lose it ASAP!! :] Thank you for your tips!!

Answers:

drink plenty of water. don't worry about quitting everything cold turkey. eat less of it. phase out pop and sweets (if you MUST have sweets try the 100 calorie packs by nabisco, the quaker 100 cal snacks or special k snack bars only 90 calories.) knocking out pop and sweets can save you over 900 calories a DAY (if you drink like three pops a day, that is). eat more veggies and calm down on the red meat. eat more tuna and lean turkey. don't bother with light mayo..it isn't that big a difference just don't drown what you eat in it. don't even give storebought salad dressing a second look (destroys a healthy salad) try vinagrettes instead. Try not to eat after 7, if you do...eat healthy (fruit, raw veggies...couple tbsp of Peanut Butter on whole wheat...etc) WORK YOUR *** OFF. Run, lift weights, do aerobics, if you can find one...get into a martial arts class(don't worry about a gym, I don't and I lost 30 lbs in 2 months.) Contrary to what a lot of people say, you don't need a gym, do it in your own home. Don't be embarassed, never lose heart and stay the course. don't become a slave to the scale OR the mirror. Take it slow and dedicate to maybe 1 or 2 lbs per week.don't starve yourself, but don't work (because that's what it is) on a "work vs. rewards" system (don't reward yourself by gorging on icecream for doing good on your diet, you'll fail everytime) It's gonna be a long, hard road (I know, I'm still on it) I used to weigh 250 lbs...Now I weigh 205. So, I'm right there with you. This will be one of the hardest battles of your life, so don't kid yourself...but after about two weeks...you should be good to go. Just work hard and eat right and build muscle and the weight should melt off.
