Under weight treatment
1) The best way to add weight is to increase your intake of complex carbohydrates, particularly whole grain ones!. Foods like whole wheat bread, muffins, pasta, crackers, and bagels are good to include!. Also, legumes and fruits would be wise choices!.
2) In order to gain weight, you will have to eat more calories!. You will need to include regular exercise and strength training into your lifestyle in order to prevent gaining too much weight as fat!. And, as I mentioned, those extra calories should come mainly from additional carbohydrate!.
3) To start, set up a realistic goal weight for yourself!. You may need to resign yourself to a less than (what you may consider) an ideal weight!. Make good nutrition your priority, and weight gain the second!.
4) It is best to gain weight slowly and steadily!. This will help to ensure that your weight gain is in the form of lean body mass and not excessive fat!. Don't try to gain more than 1/2 pound a week!.

My Dr told me I needed to put on weight also!. He told me to eat peanut butter!. you can buy reduced fat peanut butter but I needed the protein in it and it did help me put on some weight when nothing else would!. I was mixing it with ice cream and plain yogurt!. If you get yogurt and mix it with peanut butter you will put on weight and yogurt is good for your digestion while peanut butter adds protein and weight!. Just exercise so you don't get overweight!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Eating is the first and most important factor that is needed for proper weight gain!. It's simple - you need to eat more calories than you burn!. This does not mean eating anything and everything that is not nailed down!. Carefully plan your meals with foods that will help you gain lean mass, not fat!. I suggest 6 meals!. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, and three other small meals scheduled throughout the day!. The goal is to eat every 2!.5 to 3 hours!.
Focus on foods such as steak, chicken, fruit, milk, vegetables, cheese and assorted types of nuts!. It's recommended to eat 4 - 6 pieces of fresh fruit a day, and at least four tall glasses of milk!. Milk is a great, cheap protein source - take advantage of it!. A sample snack meal would be a glass of milk, an apple, and a hand full of peanuts!.

Exercise is the key along with plenty of vegetables, fruits, nuts, mixed grains, legumes, and good meats (no processed meat)!.
If you exercise regularly for both cardio and muscle, almost no matter what you eat, it'll all be changed into muscle mass and burned off as energy!.
For exercise, try to do something you enjoy to do for length of time, other wise your exercise program won't last long!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
