I have been working out for about 3 weeks and have not seen any results. I am working on changing the way I eat, which is really hard coming from the south. My brother has taken Hydroxycut but I'm scared of that.

Answers:

You're right to be afraid of the Hydroxycut. Take it from a wise woman who has been around the block and tried all those ephedra products over the years - you simply DON'T want to mess with your body chemistry with most of these supplements. As to the new Alli --- you should know that Glaxo sought FDA approval to sell it over the counter because it wasn't SELLING well as a prescription medication. Folks don't like greasy stains in their underwear or losing control of their bowels. When it comes to dietary supplements folks, the FDA doesn't have YOUR best interests at heart - it cares only about money.

Supplements that will help? Chromium Picolinate is a good one - this mineral will help to stimulate your metabolism. So is CLA. CLA is research proven to build muscle, reduce body fat, and induce an optimum cellular environment for improved health. Neither of these supplements will cause you any of the jitters, etc. associated with many products.

Eat as clean as possible. Try to get ten - yes 10 - servings of fruit and vegetables a day.

You mention that you have been exercising. Are you lifting weights? Weights will lean you out quicker than any other exercise. As a matter of fact, for a period of two months recently I all but elimated weights from my workout routine (focused on running) and actually GAINED 10 lbs. I'm back to weights and already my clothes are looser (check out cathe.com for some terrific home weight training workouts). Your focus needs to be health - the weight will take care of itself. And when you're healthy, you'll feel so much better than if you were on some lousy supplement like Zantrec 3.
