Does it matter if u eat alot, but then go excercise.?!

Question: Does it matter if u eat alot, but then go excercise!.!?
Will anything happen, or do they just cancel each other out!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Two items that have been failed to be addresed in all of the responses thus far are your goals!.

1!. Are you trying to lose fat!? Gain muscle mass!? Both!?
2!. What type of workout!? Cardio!? Resistance training!?

The response will be in combination to these two answers!.

Gain muscle/ Lose fat/ Cardio:
Yes it does matter!. Your cardio sessions are best don on an empty stomach as your body will be forced to get energy from metabolizing fat!. If you eat prior to doing your cardio, you will only be burning the food that you have just eaten - instead of the fat that you desire!.

Gain Muscle/ Resistance Training:
You don't need to eat alot, but you do need to eat smart in order to feed your muscles during your workout!. Typically you can do this with 20-25g (whey) protein and 40-60g of slow burning carbs!.

Gain Muscle/ Lose Fat/ Resistance Training:
This is a much slower process due to the two items that you are trying to accomplish!. You diet is even more critical in this case!. Before your workout, you will still need to feed yourself but stay on the low end of the carb intake!.

Decide on what your goals are and remember that you diet is going to be ~75% of the equation!. Be smart about what you eat and when you eat!. For your diet, remember the following:

-- Eat your last meal 1-2 hours before you go to bed!. This meal must be high protein, low/ no carb, low/ no fat!. This will give you the building blocks that your muscles need to rebuild and help you get a good nights sleep!.
-- You want to create a caloric deficit, but you want to do this but expending more energy while maintaing a clean diet, not by turning to a restricted calorie diet!.
-- In order to burn one pond, you have to have a caloric deficit of 3500 calories!.

Good luck!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you eat and consume 250 calories, for example, by eating a salad w/ dressing!. Then ride your stationary cycle until you burn off 250 calories then they have cancelled each other as far as calories is concerned, and only as far as the calories is concerned!. You are not cancelling out sugar you've consumed, Fat you've consumed, etc!.
To loose weight though you must burn the calories off, if you cut down ( diet) you will not loose weight, only slow down the process of adding calories to what you already have!. In order to lose what is already there you must burn and sweat the calories away!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

if you are trying to lose weight then it does matter, but if you are just maintaining your current weight i dont think it does matter!. i do 30 minutes cardio everyday, plus weights 3 times week and i eat alot and dont gain!. i dont ever eat fast food, fried food, or greasy food, i dont eat much meat other than chicken occasionally or salty foods yuck!. i eat alot of sweets like hershey milk chocolate, twizzlers, ice cream!. but i eat 3 healthy balanced meals!. i eat about 3000 calories a day, sometimes more!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Okay, as a person who works out, I've had to face this question because sometimes I have wanted to work out after I eat!. So!.!.!.now to answer you question!.

Okay, the first thing is that if you eat a lot, and then go exercise, you will feel very bad!. In some cases your body might get terribly cramped, which will hinder you from working out at all!. (This also depends on your metabolic speed!.) Usually, it takes around three hours for a meal to digest, so wait that long, and then work out with no risks involved!. If this does not seem preferable, then a simpler solution would be to work out before you ate, after you wake up, or sometime close to your next meal!.

Now, if you eat a lot first, and then go exercise will they cancel each other out!? This depends on what you ate, and how much exercised!. That's all that can be said on this subject!.

Hope this helped!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

They cancel each other out if you work to burn as many calories as you ate, and trust me that's a lot!. Some Doctors/trainers/ect!. will tell you to eat a little before as to not get hungry while working out, and as to not be too stuffed to work out at all, and finish the rest after you are finished since after working out you WILL be hungry!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well really you don't want to exercise on a full stomach and you don't want to exercise on an empty stomch either!. Just eat something lite like a small salad or banana with yogart or something then eat something afterwards that has alot of protien!. You also want to think about how many calories you eat and then how many you burn!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Unfortunately, they don't cancel each other out!. One problem is burning off those calories!. It only takes us a few minutes to scarf down a 3000 calorie meal of hamburger and fries, but burning off that 3000 calories could take literally hours!.

The second problem is this!. Make a fist!. That's about the size of our stomach!. Put too much food in it all at once and it will stretch!. As your stomach stretches to hold more food, it takes more food to fill you up!. See the problem!? You end up developing an eating pattern that is detrimental to your health and causes weight gain!.

If you were to eat as much as you want only one day a week but eat sensibly the rest of the week, then you could probably work off any extra calories without much problem!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Never do it !When we eat,our satiation point should reach when our stomach would be 2/3 full , leaving 1/3 of it empty so that digestive juices released, would mix with the food properly, the food would be churned thoroughly and would be
digested by the alimentary canal!.
By overeating, you will get indigestion, flatulence, load of toxins that would generate no!. of diseases and constipation!.
You have one and only one body! Take care of it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

According to Arnold and most doctors it is a bad idea to exercise right after eating!. Your body needs to use a lot of energy to digest that food and the combination of that energy drain and exercise can be harmful to you!. It usually manifests itself by making you sick!. If you have ever had a hard workout after you've eaten, you probably got sick!. A friend of mine told me-and this guy was a physician- that you can actually pass out from the extra stress you put on the body from eating and then exercising!. The good rule of thumb is to wait about two hours after you eat to exercise!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes, it does matter!. Exercise can only burn a certain amount of calories so if you eat a 2000cal meal and then only burn off 200cal, you've still got 1800cal stored inside of you!. In most successful diets they say exercise contributes 30% and food contributes 70%, so you know how important it is to not overeat!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

its very simple
if you take in more calories than you burn, you gain weight
if you burn more calories than you take in, you lose weight
if you burn the same amount of calories that you take it, you stay the same wieght!.
but to answer your question, as long as you eat healthy foods like steak, fish, eggs, chicken breast etc and work out often, you wont get fat!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It depends on why you eat alot, if you eat more than you need and then exercise to equal out the calorie intake, that is an eating disorder!. Why do you overeat!? Are you depressed!? Anxiety!? You need to look at why you are acting the way you are, if you are eating for reasons other than nourishing your body, you have food issues, that are now consuming your time in exercise too!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Every serious athlete who exercises does what is called a "carbohydrate load" right before they work out!. This is where they eat a lot of carbohydrate-rich foods!. This is so they have all those carbohydrates to burn off when they exercise and they are not compromising the nutrients that are already in the body being used for other things, such as vital body functions!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well it all depends!? What is your age!? What kind of food you eat daily!? How much do you exercise!? Well age is an important factor!. Young individual tend to have good metabolism!. If you do not have good metabolism and your eating unhealthy food, does make you feel unhealthy as well!. Eating fast food everyday and snacks every day is not good for you at all!. Especially, if your excising to lose weight/ or to stay fit!.!.!.!. you defeat the purpose of staying healthy!. Talk to your primary doctor or just go on-line and try to find information about the food-pyramid!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You eat the right amount for your height, build, metabolism and amount of activity!. Also it depends what your goal is!. If you're trying to loose weight, then you need to do more exercise than what you've eaten for, so your body burns fat!. But if you're just trying to maintain a healthy weight, then you've got to eat enough to give yourself the energy!. Talk to your doctor then they can work out what good quantities are for you, because it's such a personal thing!. There are general guidelines of how much we should eat, but they're vague!. Lots of people need to eat more or less than the guidlines to be what's healthy for themself!. A doctor will be able to assess you!. Hope this helps :o)Www@Answer-Health@Com

not really because it depends on the calorie consumption and what kinds of foods were involved!. also you would have to vary you exercise to what and how much you ate!. like i do eat a lot but a lot of fast food and i exercise a lot but that is not really helping me lose weight i can still eat a lot but i need to cut out the fast food as often as i eat it and still exercise!. also depends on your body type and metabolism =)
but yes you basically have the right idea!.!.so long as you work of what you ate BUT you should still try n be healthy as well as fit like eating a lot and don't forget the veggies and fruit!Www@Answer-Health@Com

the more you eat, the more you should exercise!.

If you're looking to lose weight, you have to burn more calories than you consume!.

If you can't or don't want to exercise, eating 500 calories less a day, you can lose about 1-2 pounds a week!.

look up "how many calories should I be eating!?", and there should be a calorie calculator thingy-maBob!. Then, subtract 500!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Honestly it depends on how much you burn off!. Say if you took in 2400 calories in that day but then because your body naturally burns off around 2000 a day and then you somehow burned off 400 calories off that exercise alone then you should stick to that same weight!.

It also depends on what exercise!. If it was moderate cardio like long distance jogging or just a slow swim then you will burn more calories doing that activity as you have done it for much longer!.
However if it was more intense exercise like sprinting, working out or bombing it down on your bike then you won't burn as much calories cause you can only stay at that level for a very short time!. Yet the TOTAL calories you burn will be much higher as your metabolism is raised temporily over the next few hours meaning you burn more calories!.

Hope this solves the problem for you :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

My old roommate was a fitness major and she said that the best time to workout is in the morning because you haven't stuffed yourself and you aren't working out with a full stomach!. She also said that all you're doing is just burning the calories you just ate if you did work out right after!.
She said the best time to eat is right after you work out because the muscles are starved for nourishment so protein and carbs are really good!. Try to avoid saturated fats and replace them with plant fats like olive oil or nuts!. Hope that helps! Oh and she's pretty built so I guess she knows what she's talking about!.!.!.hehe!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It depends on how many calories you burn during exercise!. Also, it depends on what you eat!. From a health stand point three thousand calories of junk food is not the same as eating three thousand calories of healthy food, even if you burn those calories during exercise!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You can do anything you like!. It may mor may not harm!. But, what is ideal is what is to be adopted!. The ideal is to do exercises when the stomach is empty!. The ideal is to do exercise during the period of Vayu (Air)!. The period of Air is from 3A!.M in the morning upto sun rise!. After 2!.a!.m!. the light breeze starts blowing and slowly and gradually it increases and it flutters the leaves of trees and plants and the birds sitting on the trees and plants wakes up and makes movement!. All movements are caused by air external or internal!. The bird chirps because the function behind chirping is done by air!. The leaves moves when the air blows on it!. i!.e!.!. external movement!. When the birds chirps, the animals gets up and the human beings thereafter!. Air means movement!. Stoppage of air means VATA (rheumatism), pain, swelling etc!. in side the body and outside the body it creates low pressure, high pressure and the like which causes again the air to move!. Since any movement is caused by air, the ideal time for doing exercise is during the period of VATA (3AM to Sunrise)!. Then comes the Kapha time, the Time of Water i!.e!. from Sunrise to 11 A!.M!. Thereafter the time of Fire (PITHA)!. This is the time when the enzimes get into stomach and the sun rises in heat and the mountains melt to form rivers!. This is a time for eating!. If you exercise during this period, the movement of vayu (air) inside the body will be so much so that the fire will burn in more intensity and the without food it could cause, ulcers and other sought of stomach ailments which will become cause for disruption of movements of air in the body and therefore arthritic, rhematic, goutish ailments!. The next period of VATA is between 2 p!.m!. to Sun set!. One can see that there is a natural tendency for human beings to play during this period and be active!. It is because the outside VATA (air) period is in complete harmony with the inside AIR (VATA) of the body!. Basically when movement of air is disrrupted it is called VATA though I have used it to describe the condition of Air!. The next period of WATER is from Sun set to 10 p!.m!.(when digestion takes place) and thereafter upto 2!.am is again Pitha period when assimilation takes place!. The ideal time for food therefore is before sun rise, 11 A!.M!. in the morning and before sun set light supper!. Sleep before 10p!.m!. and get up at 3 a!.m!. This is living in harmony with nature!. Any other kind of living increases the ailments to the body!. A person who takes lot of food and then take exercise is said to suffer later with joint paints and movement problems in the limbs!.

I hope this helps!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you are talking about eating and then immediately working out, you'll puke!. Otherwise,if you burn off more calories than you take in, you won't gain weight!. Keep in mind, that you don't burn off alot of calories when working out!. It is only a small amount !. That's why when you get into your 30's and 40's you really have to watch what you eat!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It all depends what you eat!. If your'e eating junk food, high in sugar and fat, coke or the diet variety in fact any carbonated beverage it will make no difference!. Your body/metabolism can only burn so much even with exercise!. If you eat handful amounts of healthy food all day and stop 2 hours before bed as well as doing 20-30 minutes of moderate exercise 5-7 days a week all will be fine!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

As long as the calories are of good quality and you are of normal weight you are fine!. When I go thr gym and have a good work out I will eat more than on days that I just sat at the offiice and go home to bed!. Everybody has a different metabolic rate!. My sister gets mad because I can out eat her!. Men burn calories at a faster rate than women!. As a woman I am blessed with a good metabolic system and at 44 The only time I was ever overwieght was when I had my son and I lost that weight fast with excersise alone!. enjoy you mealWww@Answer-Health@Com

They cancel each other out if you are exercising and then eating a lot of junk food!. I have a friend that is studying to be a personal trainer and she works out two hours per day 5 days per week but she eats all kinds of junk food!. She has not lost one pound and has gained at least 20!. She is an idiot, I know, but it goes to show that you have to exercise to lose weight and KEEP IT OFF!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

if you work enough you should burn it off!. but i like to eat and exercise and i have found that if you exercise BEFORE you eat you can PIG THE F*** OUT lol but not on alot of junk though like if you do 30 min before dinner you can afford seconds(an hour might let you work in thirds) beleive me I KNOW lolWww@Answer-Health@Com

exercise is good but eating a lot isn't a good habit, as it makes your stomach larger and then you store more fats in your body that exercise won't burn!.
If you're anxious or sad don't reach for eating as comfort, go work it out at the gym instead, or do something!.!. but don't eat a lot, as it is not a healthy thing to do!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

depending on what you eat, it could be very healthy!. If you eat meat and protien products, and then work out, you will gain muscle weight!.

If your eating junk food, that wont really do much!. you will just gain strength, not really muscle!.

If your lifting during exercise you wont lose that much weight!. that weight will go into your muscles!. But if you run or do cardio, odds are you'll lose the calories, but it takes a while to lose the weight!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

ha, every time i do that i get sick! lol!. um, i think as long as you have some portion control, and don't overexert yourself immediately after eating, you should be fine, but they're not exactly going to cancel each other out!. the food provides energy for your work-out, but depending on how long you exercise really determines if they cancel each other out!. hope i wasn't too confusing =)Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you eat a piece of cake and then go run a mile afterwards, you're just fooling yourself!. It takes a few hours to totally digest and get into your system, muscles, and turn into atp for your cells!.!.!. and if you eat more than a piece of cake, your exercise won't do you much good!. It'll burn off the stuff you had before if you're not too lethargic from the food you just ate!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Its a lot easier to consume calories than to burn it off!. For example, Nutritionists in Great Britain claim that an average person would have to walk 9!.5 miles to burn off a Big Mac Meal!. The expectation of being able to eat whatever you want and burn it off with exercise is unrealistic!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
