Healthy Time Period to Lose Weight?

I wanted to lose about 2 or 3 kg and was wondering whether dropping 1kg a week is a healthy weight loss scheme. Also, if it is, is a 1/2 run going to help me do this?

If you only need to lose a small amount of weight, it will come off more slowly than somebody that needs to lose more. 1kg/week is more than you will probably be able to do without some very serious exercise and dieting. 1/2 kg per week is more likely for somebody in your situation.
