Is wheat bread really that much better than white?!

Question: Is wheat bread really that much better than white!?
I love white bread but my step-mom is trying to have the family make better eating choices!. I really can't stand wheat bread or wheat pasta so I was just wondering if it really makes any difference!.

We're not trying to lose weight or anything like that; just trying to be "healthy!."Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
The difference is in the fiber!.!. White bread is made from highly processed flours where just about all fibrous bits are removed!.!. On average, most people should consume about 18 grams of fiber per day!.!. For instance, Wonder Bread traditional sandwich bread only has !.5 grams of fiber per slice!.!. You'd have to eat 36 slices of bread per day to get enough fiber!.!. Fiber can help prevent colon cancer AND removes cholesterol, so it's a pretty important part of eating healthy!. Wonder bread's 100% whole grain bread still only has about 2 grams of fiber per slice, so you'd still have to eat 9 slices a day!.!.
If you can find a way to get 18 grams of fiber per day from something other then bread, then it won't matter as much what bread you eat!.!. Some other good choices for fiber are bran cereal and oatmeal!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes there is a huge difference!.
Good for your step mom!.
100% whole wheat bread is great for you!.
You would probably get more from eating a box than from eating white bread!. White bread started out with wheat flour!. How do you think it got white!? Well it was "bleached", in doing this most all the nutrients were removed, then if your lucky they will ad some synthetic nutrients back into the bread!. Always eat as close to natural as much as you can!. Natural nutrients are always better for you and easier to digest than synthetic nutrients!. Don't get me wrong I eat my share of grease and "Twinkies" but I also know about how the two are made!. I chose to make my own choice but I could never say "well I didn't know"Www@Answer-Health@Com

not so much that it is better for you it is just a lot healthier for youWww@Answer-Health@Com
