Is running or power walking better for you?!


Question: Is running or power walking better for you!?
I thought that running would burn more calories and make you sweat more, but I've heard that running is actually hard on the knees and ankles and can hurt you!. Should I do more walking instead!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you wear proper shoes (shock-resistant) you should be fine!. It is better than power-walking for sure!.

Edit: It depends, I suppose!. For cardio, which is better for weight loss, running is most definitely better!. Your heart rate is increased, etc!. If you're going for muscle gain (of some sort) power-walking with weights is better!. (Either the kind around your legs or just carrying light weights in your hand!.)

Edit: But if you're worried about your knees and ankles, I would suggest jump roping more, on a carpet possibly!. 20 minutes of that nonstop can rival a mile run!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Running is better but you're correct to say it can hurt the knees and ankles!. Invest in good running shoes which is shock absorbent as it cushions your feet when you land!.

However if you have prior knee and ankle problems, it is better to do walking or seek advice from your physician!.

If you're just beginner when it comes to running, it's advisable to do it slowly and learn to be aware of the "changes" in these areas, ie!. as you're running, does the joints hurt!? When does it hurt!? When you're doing a jog slowly!? Running real fast!? When it hurts, do stop!. Seek advice from a physician or rest a few days before beginning again!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Running is by far superior!. You just need to invest in proper running shoes and follow a good running program!. People that hurt their knees and ankles from running tend to do so because they try to do too much, too fast!. You need to ensure you give your body time to adjust to running, and also give it time to recover after runs!. If you want to burn a lot of calories then running is definentely better!! It may be hard on the ankles and knees but if you drink a lot of milk then it doesn't matter!. Walking is good but you have to do a lot of it which takes up a lot of time if you want to get the same results as you do when you run!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

running is not hard on the knees and legs!. running on concrete is bad for the knees and legs!. so run on asphalt or grass!. sand is even better!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Powerwalking is way better than walking, you actually focus on more muscles than running!.!.!.i just forgot which muscles lol!.!.but yeah, seriously powerwalking :)Www@Answer-Health@Com
