Any food products that are "processed" to get it to its final state!.

Processed foods have been altered from their natural state for safety reasons and for convenience!. The methods used for processing foods include canning, freezing, refrigeration, dehydration and aseptic processing!.

We tend to think of processed foods as bad, but it turns out that many processed foods are not unhealthy!. For example, milk would be considered a processed food because it is pasteurized to kill bacteria and homogenized to keep fats from separating!. While some people prefer to drink raw milk, most of us should consume the "processed" version we find in our grocery stores!.

Another healthy example of food processing is frozen vegetables!. While fresh may be best, freezing vegetables preserves vitamins and minerals and makes them convenient to cook and eat all year around!. Fruit and vegetable juice is also an example of a healthy processed food!. In fact, some orange juice is fortified with calcium to make it even more nutritious!.

Of course, there are a lot of processed foods that aren't good for you!. Many processed foods are made with trans fats, saturated fats, and large amounts of sodium and sugar!. These types of foods should be avoided, or at least eaten sparingly!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

By definition, any food that's is packed commercially is processed!. but from health point of view the definition goes to basic main ingredients
1!. Foods made with refined flours!. refined flours are considered foods!. Example is white bread, cake
2!. Grain products where bran and/or germ have been removed!. Example is white rice
3!. Ground chicken patties are made by grinding (processing) chicken parts!. It is true about ground turkey and ground beef
The ground meats are not considered as processed foods, but the commercial products made with ground meats are considered as processed foodsWww@Answer-Health@Com

Ask yourself how much precessing was needed to get it to the state it is sold to you in!.

Examples:

A tomato!? They just picked it and sent it to you!.
Brown bread!? They ground the flour and made it into bread!.
White bread!? Same as brown but with the extra processing step of refining the flour so it's more processed!. They probably also bunged in a lot of preservatives and other rubbish!.

For unprocessed meals, buy the BASIC ingredients yourself!. Buy a bag of brown rice, not a bag of ready mix packaged indian tandoori rice vegetable mix!. Buy a chicken fillet, not a breaded fillet nugget with cheese!. Buy a fish not a fish finger!. etc!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Everything that is not just as it came from the ground or that does not come from the ground!. If it's meat, anything that has been cooked, smoked, salted or otherwise altered from its natural state!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

processed foods are foods that are high in preservatives as well as sodium!. These are canned goods, instant noodles or instant meals that you'll just heat in the microwave!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
