Why does it say on vitamin bottles "to take with a meal?!

Why does it say on vitamin bottles "to take with a meal?
Will they not work without taking with a meal? Also..some also say 'for therapetic use". ..what does that mean?
Answers:
It means that you should not take them on an empty stomach. You could get a stomach ache or irritate your stomach lining if you don't follow the directions. Therapeutic use means that they are for certain medical conditions only and should be taken under a Dr's supervision.
