If i am not sore after weight training, does that mean it didn't work?!

Question: If i am not sore after weight training, does that mean it didn't work!?
I am trying to bulk up (upper body) and i usually work out to the point that i am sore for at least 2 days!. So that means i only work out for 2 days a week!. If i have less intense workouts and i am not sore or not as sore, then i can workout for maybe 3 days a week!. Will it be effective!? Or would my usually really intense workouts be better!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Everywhere i look it says that the muscles need time to rest after being worked otherwise it could cause injury!. All people may be different but I find that after an intense training session that leaves me sore resting for a day then doing another intense session even if the soreness is still there is highly beneficial for muscle mass gain!. Obviously use common sense if you are sore and stiff and feel injury prone, wait a bit longer!. Just remember everyones muscles are different sizes because people put their muscles under different amounts of strain!. If a bricklayer and a office worker never weight trained in their lives, the bricklayer would be naturally more muscular because of the daily pressure he puts his muscles under!. Basically the more demands you put on your muscles the more they will have to grow to adapt to pressure being put on them!. I would say have your intense workouts but try to gradually build up to 3 maybe 4 times a week, I usually train to the point of soreness and wait a day, train to the same intensity and wait a day!. It is hard work at first but trust me the results should show for themselves!. If at any point you feel even a slight injury occurring i would stop for the day and always have someone spot you if you are on a bench because of the strains your muscles will be going through!. Hope this helpsWww@Answer-Health@Com

With building muscle the recovery is really important!. Effective strength training requires that we break muscle tissue down but if you do not give your body a chance to "repair" itself you will actually be working against yourself!.

Most weight training enthusiasts try different approaches which can not only help to minimize soreness but can also enhance their training efforts!.

Working out antagonists and agonists - Like pairing chest with back or triceps with biceps!.

Pairing primary and secondary muscles together like Chest and shoulders and triceps!.

Supersetting etc!.

In the end proper nutrition is also key along with proper rest in between workouts!. If you are still sore it is not wise to work out that group of muscles!. If you start pairing muscles together like one day chest, shoulder and triceps, then back and biceps, then legs!. You could actually work out three days in a row without overtraining anyone part!.

Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

In your case, since you're trying to bulk up, the more intense you work your muscles, the more they will respond and grow when they heal!.

So you definitely need to keep the intensity, but I can see your problem of feeling like 2 days a week just isn't enough!. To get around this, you need to lessen that 2 days of soreness!.

If you're not doing so already, you should be having a quality protein shake immediately after your workout, and then again before going to bed!. The protein helps lower your muscle recovery time!. You should also consider a glutamine supplement!. Its the most abundant amino acid in the body, especially in skeletal muscles, and will help them recover faster also!. Try to aim for at least 10 grams a day!.

Hope that helps!.

you only get sore when you start working out, after you work out for so long your body gets used to the pain and eliminates it!. my suggestion is for you to raise your limit, try heavier weights, only slightly and which you can handle, but still just because you aren't sore does not mean it didn't work!. Lets put it this way, if working out made everyone sore all the time everyone would be fat, no affiance to overweight people!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

you do want intense workouts!. I would suggest that you have intense workouts for seperate parts of the body, for more days a week!. For example, I would work chest and tri's one day, back and biceps another day, then shoulders and neck the third day!. have 3 intense days with these combinations, or your own combinatins!. I do think you should workout more than 2 days a week, at least 3!. It wouldn't hurt to get good lower body workouts in too!. It will actually help!. But youre body will need rest, so rest on the weekends or something!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

noo, if you are sore that means you have pushed yourself to your limit which could be bad and you could injure yourself!
intense workout are good every once in a while but consistency is the key to improving, you must be consistent with what you are doing and it may not seem like you are getting stronger but steadily you will feel stronger and you can GRADUALLY increase your workout routines :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

After a strength workout your muscles need 24-48 hours to recover
if yoru just starting to workout you shouldnt be doing it intensly (at first)
plus QUALITY over Quantity, if you do 12 nice and slow reps that contract the muscle the proper way, it will make you stronger mush more than 20 reps down fast and the wrong wayWww@Answer-Health@Com

Not at all! it means that you are not stretching, which is very important!. If you see results, regardless of whether it hurts, then it's working!. Try stretching before and after working out and i'm sure you'll feel the difference!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

When you are sore after a work out, it means that your muscles are changing and becoming stronger!. You should do the same work out until they aren't sore afterwords, then make it harder after about a month!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Intensitity is better but don't judge the quality of your workout by how sore you are!. You can have an excellent workout and not be sore!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You should be slightly sore after a workout!. If you are not sore, it is probably because your body has adapted, so you will need to increase your workouts in some way!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
