Question: What's a good test of strength to find out if you are strong!?
I heard that just because you look big that doesn't mean that you are strong!. What can you do to determine your strength!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
The standard minimum for being strong regardless of size is a 300 lb bench press, 400 lb squat and a 500 lb deadlift!. There is a strength chart below!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

To test endurance related strength, see how many push ups,sit ups, chin ups, pull ups, bodyweight squats or bodyweight dips you can do!.

How strong is your 1RM (one rep max-how much weight you can lift for one rep)!? Try it on the barbell bench press, barbell deadlift (very good to try on this), barbell shoulder press, barbell bent over row and barbell squats!.

To see how strong you are AND how much you can handle over a period of time try your 10RM (10 rep max) on the above barbell exercises!.

To see how powerful you are try the barbell clean and press or working out on a heavy punch bag!. This is plyometric strength/power (your weight x your speed)!.

Test your isometric abilities to see how long you can hold a plank or horse riding stance!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The most common, is if you can lift your body weight for arms biceps and triceps, and if you can lift atleast three times your body weight for legs!. If you can do those you are strong!.!.

Another basic gauge, is measuring your strength with one of those cool punching back thingys!.!.

Actually the person who said running around in the street, isn't lying, I've seen that as a method of strength, and I've seen guys push cars that are about to hit them out of the way (the cars were going slow though)!. If you can lift a car your super strong!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

A lot of people measure their strength via their "one-rep max," which is the maximum amount of stress your body can handle during a weight lifting exercise for only one repetition of the movement!. For example, if someone could perform a 225 lb!. bench press, but then be unable to do 2 repetitions or complete it again with higher weight after a rest, that is a good gauge of their chest and tricep strength!. You may need to be more specific about your views of what strong is-- Ronnie Coleman can leg press 2300 lbs!. 8 times, but that doesn't mean people who can't do that are not strong!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The deadlift is great test of pure strength!. Just pick up the heaviest weight you can from the floor!. Can't get any more simple than that!.
