i came back to give you a better answer- i was not pleased -
If you are asking this question because of your size, I can understand your concern - and if you have hypothyroidims, then you are not able to lose as rapidly.
I don't think telling you to lose weight will do any good. BUT one thing I would like to add is consider a POOL THERAPY program to assist with weight loss and rehab for the ACL repair.
Any time I ever have to do therapy- I will always choose POOL. It doesnt hurt as much and the Benefits are tremendous! By getting in the pool, you will benefit with your weight and your knee- the water is just SOOO relaxing!
I owned a health spa and had a 90degree pool for Pool therapy and a 104 degree Hot tub, I can tell you I was unpleasantly plump-LOL and I got down with persistance of walking and swimming and goofing around in the water to 125 lbs THIS IS WHY I SWEAR BY IT! my dr was amazed -in fact he said that he had never really experienced in all the years of practice someone losing weight with chronic back pain - the amount that I did. Quite proud.
If anything- YOU will feel better and have better results- I sure hope you consider this type of treatment.
GOOD LUCK - that surgery sounds painful- but maybe getting n the water will help ease the pain and it wont be needed, if the weight is controlled.
