How quickly will I lose weight?!

Question: How quickly will I lose weight!?
I am two stone overweight and have just started going to a gym!. If I go 5 times a week for 40 minutes and do cardio vascular exercise, (plus eating sensibly) when do you think I will start seeing results in weight loss and inch loss!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Two stone isn't too bad!. I had three to get rid of when I was in your position!. It took me about 4 months to lose it all,but the results started to become obvious in about 4-6 weeks!. The sensible nutritionists and dieticians usually agree that you should aim to lose about 1kg (2lbs) per week, so if you keep to that then I am sure you can do the maths!.

I see from your answers that you have stopped smoking!. Assuming you are still off them, then you have all the self-discipline you need!. I remember the first 3 days off cigarettes very well; and you'll be happy to learn that weight loss is easy compared to quitting smoking!

If you're just starting an exercise regime, then I would be a bit wary about giving it 5 days a week just yet!. My old gym's instructors used to tell keen newcomers to keep it at 3 days maximum for the first couple of months, and I still think that is good advice!.

Whilst your body gets used to this new routine, there is a risk you will pick up injuries, particularly to joints with you being overweight!. If you are really dead set on 5 times a week, then just be careful and try and pick machines that will support your weight!. Psychologically, if you don't see quick results you may also get disillusioned, at just the time when your efforts are beginnning to pay off!.

You seem clued up that calories in have to be less than calories out, and that will really help over the next few weeks!. A lot of people don't see results as they eat more as soon as they start doing some exercise!.

My first gym routine had me doing 2 mins walk followed by 2 mins run on the treadmill for a total of 10 minutes!. The walk was at 6kmh, the run at 9kmh!. The run made me feel like I was going to die!. I survived, and kept at it!. As my weight started to come down I was able to work harder!. A year later I ran a half marathon!.

Setting goals might help you, but if you do then don't set the standard too high or it will be counterproductive!.

Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Instead of 40 mins,
you could have a 5 minutes break and then
do about 20 minutes!.
You are ment to do 1 hour of exercise a day remeber!.
If you cut out chocolates and sweets and replace
them with fruit or veg, it'll help!.
After a few month you could see changes!.
You should also exercise at home though,
buy a tredmill or something, and work out on that!.
Good Luck!.

You could probably lose it anywhere from 2-5 months, but if you go 5 to the gym times a week every week, and follow a good diet then you could do it in 2-3 months!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It will take you more than a year probably!. You need to do more than an hour at the gym and be on a strict diet!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
