Answers:
It's not the worst diet in the world, but there is definite room for improvement!. Firstly, your breakfast was devoid of almost any lean protein whatsoever!. I will try to break it down a bit for you!.!.!.

Low-fat yogurt - Good start, but also try to go for low sugar or sugar free yogurt if you can find it!. Sugar can be even worse than fat if eaten at the wrong times/amounts, and potentially just a rocket fuel to fill up your fat cells when mixed in high amounts with fat!.

Granola bar - Definite bad choice! Contrary to the popular belief of many "health nuts", granola is not healthy in the least bit and is extraordinarily fattening!.

Lunch - The Luna bar is a smart choice when your on the go, but I wouldn't overdo them if I were you!. The smoothie could do without too many of the added sugary substances and the yogurt altogether!. It is better to drink smoothies that you know the nutritional profile of by making them yourself, as many food service smoothies are loaded with so much junk, it cancels out any health benefit it really had in the first place!. Again, if you have to go for the store bough smoothies, go with a reputable chain like smoothie king and make sure to order what is meant for fat loss or weight management!.

Dinner - Your dinner has thus far been the most balanced meal you ate all day!. The corn on the cob without butter was a good choice!. The grilled chicken breast was good too but I would have deep six-ed the bun in favor for a piece of 100% stone ground whole wheat bread!. As long as the corn was of moderate size, then the asparagus and strawberries added a nutrient variety to the table!.

The best guidelines I can give you are as follows: Always try to combine 1 serving of lean protein, complex low glycemic index carbohydrate, and vegetable in each meal!. mix in some fruit in moderate amounts a couple of times here and there throughout the day but be sparing, for fruit tends to have a higher sugar content!. Drink plenty of water!.!.!.at least 8 to 10 glasses a day!. If you drink coffee, have it without creamer and use a healthy sweetener instead of sugar!. Same thing with teas!.!.!.green teas is only good for you if you are drinking the 0 calorie, non-sugar laced variety!.

Example of a clean eating pattern:

Breakfast: 1 serving old fashioned quaker oats with no sugar, 3/4 cup low fat cottage cheese with a dab of fat free sugar free yogurt, glass of diet green tea!.

Snack: handful of fresh raw almonds, 1 small fruit!.

Lunch: broiled turkey breast on 100% stone-ground whole wheat bread with lettuce and yellow mustard, 1 carrot!.

Snack/post-workout meal: Power smoothie made with 20 grams chocolate or vanilla whey protein isolate, 1 cup skim milk, 5 frozen strawberries, and 1/4-/12 banana!.(optional for post-workout: add 5 grams unflavored creatine monohydrate powder and 1 tsp of L-glutamine powder!.)

Dinner: Serving of grilled tilapia glazed with fresh lemon juice, baked sweet potato with Molly Mcbutter as a butter substitute Large portion of steamed cruciferous vegetables!.

Are you happy with your current body fat levels!? You mentioned that you are 111 lbs!. at 5' 3"!. That equates to your BMI (body mass index) being at 19!.68!. Weight gain actually may be advisable for you, considering a BMI below 20 indicates that you are underweight!. a BMI of 20-25 is acceptable, 26-27 is in the escalating health risks range, and over 27 puts you at a dramatic risk of health problems!. I would recommend trying to put on at the bare minimum, 2 pounds of lean bodyweight!.

Working out:

If you don't work out already, graduating your way into a balanced weight training/cardiovascular regimen would also be very beneficial to not only retaining your weight, but also take your body into a new level of conditioning that will stay with you for years to come!. This is especially good for someone of eighteen to undertake a healthy lifestyle now, because as you grow older the proper nutrition/exercise training with stave off the effects that age has on the body's shape!.

It will really depend on a few factors including how much physical activity you do, how physically demanding your job is, etc!. In other words, how many calories you burn in a day!. Your diet might be OK if you lead a pretty sedentary life!.

Also, at first glance, I would strongly suggest increasing the amount of healthy fat in your diet!. Things like avocados, olive oil, salmon would be great choices!. Every cell in your body needs fat to work properly, this includes your brain! And of course your hair and skin will look better!.

If you want to know more, I would suggest the website www!.fitday!.com!. You can customize it with exactly the brands of food you eat and input the physical activity you do!. It will also tell you how many calories you burn in a day from your lifestyle, not just exercise!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
