Question: How many daily calories should I eat!?
I'm 5 foot 3 inches, 500 pounds and want to loose weight!. How many calories should I eat and how much fat is too much!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you really are 500 pounds, you've got some serious medical issues that need to be addressed BEFORE you begin to exercise and/or diet!. You really need to see a doctor and get a complete medical evaluation before you begin any kind of weight loss program!. The reason I say this is because seriously overweight people usually have other medical complications (like diabetes) as a result of the weight!.

Secondly, you want to make sure that any kind of diet and exercise program is undertaken SLOWLY!. You don't want to start out jogging, for example, because carrying that much weight can easily create joint damage putting you even further behind in your weight loss goals!.

Rather than giving you a number of calories to shoot for, I advise you to cut your current number of calories by 10%!. That may mean having one less soft drink or snack during the day!. Do that for a week or two and then cut out another 10%!. You need to get to where you're consuming around 2500 calories per day (again, let your doctor help you determine this number)!.

By continuing on like this, you'll slowly reduce the total number of calories you're taking in and giving your body time to adjust to the lower levels!.

Next, you need to add exercise because dieting alone is not enough (see source link)!. However, start off with something that gets you moving but does not put a stress on your heart or joints!. Something like swimming would be good!.

I don't recommend cycling to start out because when you sit, your abdominal section (which is where most of us carry a lot of our excess fat) tends to drop!. This forces you to spread your legs out to the side when you pedal!. That puts your knees out of alignment and increases the chance of injury!. If your knees hurt after being on a stationary bike, this is why!. Wait until some of the weight drops off before getting on a bike!.

I'm proud of you for wanting to do something about your weight!. However, you need to be careful about trying to do too much, too fast!. When you're starting out, you can't afford to hurt yourself because you'll lose whatever progress and momentum you've built up!.

Take it one step at a time and eventually, you'll get there!

I would see a doctor for professional tips so that you can lose as much weight as possible IN A SAFE AND HEALTHY WAY!

What I generally do to lose some weight:
-Eat 5, smaller meals throughout the day instead of 3 big meals!.
-Stop drinking any sugar drinks (pop, lemonade, etc!.)!.
-Drink lots of water (it helps suppress your appetite and increases your metabolism)!.
-Exercise! I'm not saying you need to go get a personal trainer, BowFlex, or LifeTime fitness membership!. When you get bored/hungry, go talk a walk/run!. Walking is great because it gives you time to think, increases your metabolism, and you don't have to change your clothes/shower when you do it!.

Those are all easy ways to lose some weight!. They don't cut into your life style to terribly but will definitely help you to lose weight!.

As for areas that have more fat than others, lifting is the only way to tighten up those areas!. Bench press will help you to tighten your chest while crunches and sit ups will help you tighten your stomach!.

Don't ount calories!. You can still eat the foods you enjoy and lose the weight you want to!. Even if you only need to lose 10 to 20 lbs!. Or maybe you just want to maintain you should check out this great system I'm using!. Its in the link box!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
