Yes you are right--you are overweight. What you need is to figure out a lifestyle.

What do you enjoy doing? Playing soccer, tennis. Being healthy means maintaining an active lifestyle. Do something you enjoy doing and you will continue doing it.

Also--start a food journal. Write down every single thing that corsses your lips. If you keep that up for 2 weeks, you'll have a better idea of what your problems are. Some overweight people I know think they eat healthy. I have a very overweight person that believes she eats healthy. She piles on the cheese on the broccoli, skips meals and eats late at night. She adds butter to bread and salt to everything. Yet technically nothing she is eatting is sugary fatty junk food but she is sabatoging herself.

Figure out how you are sabatoging yourself. Stop drinking sodas. They aren't healthy for you and you are too young to be drinking them. Carry a water bottle with you. To increase your metabolism, eat more frequently. You should be eating every 2-3 hours. Never skip a meal. Quit eating any sugary junk food. It has no nutritional value. You should never eat late at night. Do not eat dinner after 8pm. Watch portion control. Check out what really is one item.

For snacks, place anything in a snack bag. If you grab a bag of chips or cookies, you'll eat the whole thing. If you have a snack bag with a limited quantity, when it's empty you'll stop.

As for work out--even 30 min a day of exercise will help you. Just remember this isn't a diet. There are no miracle pills that you swallow a couple and wake up 30 lbs lighter. That is a scam. What you need is to change your lifestyle.
