Question: A question for body builders, fitness fanatics & gym guru's!!?
you guys tend to have nice arms that aren't scrawny looking but usually have nice tight abs!. how did you go about getting bigger all over your body, but still maintain a nice stomach!? my problem is that im trying to gain weight so that i don't look skinny and muscular, i want nice big arms, chest etc, but im affraid to get too big in the stomach area because that will make it a lot harder for me to get abs later down the road!. is there a way to direct fat in arms, legs, chest!? how do you guys maintain nice big body parts but not have a fat stomach!?
please help! thanks!

ps!. i lift weights with high weight, low reps and high sets every other day and cardio on the other days!. but i need help with the eating part of it!. i know i should eat a lot to get big but i dont want a gigantic gut because that will make abs harder to achieve because i want abs then a nice six pack!. but i dont want to be a hard rock though, just slightly big and nicely toned!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You must make sure that you take in an optimal amount of protein in order to grow muscle!.
There are two schools of thought on how much protein to take and if it is bad!.!. One school of thought suggests that too much protein can be bad for the kidneys but the other group claims that there is no evidence to support that those who have suffered kidney problems were healthy before intaking high protein!.
Check with a health professional experienced with bodybuilders if you are not certain!.
I try to ingest up to a gram per pound of body weight so since I am around 235 pounds, I eat 240 grams of protein per day but specifically on my workout days to help optimize protein synthesis!. I consume these in 30 gram sittings!.!.so I have to eat every 2-3 hours!.Protein doesn't convert to fat as readily as other calorie sources such as fat and carbohydrates so generally body builders are able to make a decent amount of their diet protein without gaining unwanted gut!.
Protein sources are lean chicken, beef, goat, fish, beans and lentils!. These are good sources of protein!. I eat all my protein from natural food sources and I don't take shakes at all!. But that is my personal decision and it's up to you!. But that is the basis!.

The way most bodybuilders (especially those very serious ones) do it is by eating alot and gaining both muscle and fat in the off season like during winter!. When they want to look their best and are happy with the muscle gain they will diet and lose some muscle an burn off most of the fat!.

Bodybuilders don't have abs when they are gaining as the fat covers it!.

Try eating a larger amount of high proteing foods and add some suppliments to your diet if you want!.

The best way is probably for you to gain a little more fat than you want then train to burn it off when you are happy with your size!.

The trick is to stick to a high protein diet, and eat lean meats and get your carbs from vegetables and fruits as a source along with wheat bread, cereals etc!. The reason body builders (that do it the natural way) can get so big yet be so fit is because they'll eat a lot of protein, but from healthy foods so it is a low fat diet!. The big gut from overeating develops not from increasing caloric content, but from eating the wrong foods!. Try eating egg whites for breakfast, and fish and chicken and if you want energy in the mornigns have some smoothies or fruits and avoid sugary drinks, etc!. This should help you get bigger but not get that unwanted burger gut!Www@Answer-Health@Com
