My best advice is:
1!. Don't diet! Yes, you heard me right!. It never works in the long-term!. You will get frustrated, quit, feel like a failure and revert back to your old eating habits!.

2!. Exercise - there is no way around it!. You have to get moving to boost the metabolism!. It doesn't have to be hard, but you have to make time to move!. Find what you enjoy - walking, riding a bike or join a gym!. A min of 30 minutes a day 4- 5 days/week!.

3!. Educate yourself on healthy food choices and cooking!. There are many sites out there that can help you with recipes and tips, such as www!.prevention!.com and www!.cookinglight!.com

4!. Be Prepared - This is one of the biggest things that get us into trouble!. Plan and prep your meals for dinner ahead of time!. Marinate some chicken in the morning (I used low-fat bottled salad dressing) to cook-up for dinner!. Make extra to for a tasty wrap for lunch the next day!. If you are planning a meal out with friends on the weekend, fill up on some fiber beforehand (I love Fiber One bars)!. You will eat less!.

5!. Use portion control - eat off of the small plate, and don't do seconds!. Enjoy the dessert, but limit yourself to 4-5 bites!. Do 15 bites taste better than 5!? No, it's just more

Get a jump on things this summer by starting your healthy eating and exercise!. Also, don't let vacations pack on the extra pounds!. See my tips for healthy vacation eating at http://buzz!.prevention!.com/community/run!.!.!.

I am a full-time graduate student, work part-time, mom to 2 little ones and wife!. I KNOW it is not easy to make the time to exercise or eat properly!. You have to make a commitment to yourself!. You will find out that everything else still gets done!.

Remember also that the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step! Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com
