Calories on the treadmill -hardly burning anything?!


Question: Calories on the treadmill -hardly burning anything!?
i use the treadmill at the gym - it asks me what i weigh at the beginning i enter 60kgs which is 132 pounds - i guess so it can calculate how many calories im burning!.

I walk fast for 2 mintues run for 1 minute and i do this for 30 mintues and i am really sore!. Then i walk fast for 10 minutes!. So all in all i workout 40minutes and i usually burn 150 calories!. That feels like hardly anything!.!.!.!.its probably because i dont weigh that much but it still feels so minimal!.

Im a little chubby and i feel like i really should be burning more than that!. Should i work out for 1!.5 hours instead of 40minutes a day!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

The machine is wrong!. At your weight, and that intensity, you are burning more like 300-350 calories!.

By the way, don't EVER believe what a cardio machine tells you about calories burned!. At best, it's an estimate; at worst, it's no guide at all!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Your speed is not high enough!. You are under challenging yourself!. I suggest sprints!. Run moderately for a minute or two to warm your body up and then boost it higher for maximum heart-rate!. If your side is not hurting, you are not really working out!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you do that everyday and watch what you eat, you will lose weight and tone your muscles!. Don't worry about a stupid calorie counter on a machine!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

After an hour of cardio you will just be burning muscle so no more than 1 hour of cardio!. You should change up your routine!. Your body gets used to a routine so once in a while you have to change it up!. Start by increasing the incline on the treadmill!. This will burn more calories because you are using more muscles!. Look on the treadmill and see if it has a hill interval mode!. This will do the work for you and you can start with a low level and over time (weeks or days) you can increase the level!. This will help you burn more calories and challenge your body!. I like to walk and run on the treadmill!. I will start out walking for 5, running for 5,etc for approx 40 minutes and then 5 min of cool down!. This helps increase your stamina!.
