What is the funniest excuse you've had to miss a day at work?
I told my boss once that I got hit by a car. A mirror grazed my arm as I was riding my bike and I will not be able to come in today. My boss told me to take the week off, and I had to wear a fake cast to pick up my paycheck.

Well, this isn't a funny one, but it sure is the one I most regret. I told them that my father had a stroke and pretended to cry and said I needed to be at the hospital. Then people inquired for weeks and weeks about my dad's condition and I had to read up on strokes to be able to answer their questions. I wish I had just told them I had diarrhea.
