Does doing basic exercises like press-ups and sit-ups help lose weight?!


Question: Does doing basic exercises like press-ups and sit-ups help lose weight!?
i currently do 100 press ups and 100 sit ups a day but i dont seem to lose any weight!. Is this because i am building more muscle and it weighs more than fat!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

The exercises you are doing will tone you & you will lose some body fat!. To really lose body fat though, you need to do more vigorous exercises such as jogging or cycling (which you can do in addition to your other exercises),something that really gets the heart pumping & causes you to sweat!. Then you know you're expending energy & burning fat!. The other aspect, as one answerer correctly pointed out, is diet!. More raw or lightly cooked veggies, fruit & whole-grains will be far more beneficial to you than processed foods that contain high sugar & salt content not to mention the tremendously harmful chemicals!. To lose body fat you need to burn more calories (food energy) than you eat every day!.

This means diet!.

The exercise helps burn calories in two ways!.!. there is the energy spent while actually exercising!.!.!. and then there is the energy spent while your muscles repair themselves!. You can see then that exercise can dramatically improve your progress!.

If you think that you might be adding muscle mass and losing body fat!.!. the simple way to check is to use a tape measure around your guts!. Your waist will diminish if you are losing body fat!.

It does a little!. But that is more strength training!. You need to do cardio!. Using your big muscles which are your legs!. Running, cycling, and some gym machines are the best way to go!. Walking is okay if you do a lot!. Remember its distance over time when running and walking!. You burn around the same per mile but the time is going to be differant!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Have you changed your eating habbits!? If not, then that is why one major reason!.

In addition to what you are doing now you should be jogging, actually fast walking is better on the knees!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You are building muscle than losing fat!. Speed walking is a great way to lose fat!.!.!. I would first lose the fat than work on building the muscle!. Speed walk every day for an hour!. Eat healthier diet!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

the press ups and sit ups willl build muscle but will not burn that many callories!. try going for a jog evry other day and hopefully your muslce work will begin to show!.
