I have a serious issue!?!


Question: I have a serious issue!!?
i need to know if i am at a normal weight or underweight!. i'm 13 going on 14 in about 1 month, i'm 5'6, and i weigh 119 or 120 pounds!. my bmi is 19!.7, i'm active in field hockey & swimming, and i don't think i'm fat, but i've been looking sort of chubby lately!. maybe it's just me!. when i stand, my thighs barely touch, but they almost do!. PLEASE DO NOT TELL ME TO LOOK UP A BMI CHART, OR ASK MY DOCTOR!. i've asked my doctor a bunch of times and all she says is "whatever you're comfortable with is your healthy weight", that really bugs me though, because i want to know if i'm healthy or underweight!! i eat right most of the time, or try to at least!. could you also tell me how many calories i should eat in a single day for my age/height group!?

you are excatly the right weight you do NOT need to worry about anything ! you caneat w/e your eating dont stop one bit because your perfect !
and your doctor is right you should feel comfortable wiht what you look like!. =)

um, relax, bmi is worthless body fat might be better

as for food, each meal/snack should have like protein fat and carbs, the more unprocessed the better

calories can be worthless too cause some days you wont be exerting as much energy as other days, if you work out alot in a day then eat more calories, other wise reduce it to what you need when not exercising etc!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

For someone that is active in sports you are underweight (in my opinion)!. My female athletes that are 5'6" average about 140 and go up to 155!. Not one of them has an ounce of fat on them (an exageration but they are very lean)Www@Answer-Health@Com

You shouldn't worry!. As long as your eating whenever you feel like you should, (that's feel, not think) you're not underweight or overweight!. Since you're about 14 (and so still growing) you shouldn't be concerned with how many calories you should be eating!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

First of all, you're way too young to worry about crap like that!. Don't be a sheep to follow along with every other airhead female worrying about such an insignificant thing, especially when the answer is no, you're perfectly fine!.

Trust your doctor- after all, she's the one who went to medical school for all those years, remember!? As long as your active and eat right, you're perfectly fine!.

You are probably of normal weight, sounds like you are a bit on the thin side, but I don't think you would qualify as underweight!.

If you think you are looking chubby, perhaps it's just some areas of your body that aren't toned!. Even skinny people can look a little flabby in some areas!. I bet it's all in your mind, but maybe you could benefit from some exercise that targets those areas!. If you're eating well and exercising, you shouldn't have trouble being at a normal weight!. People have different body types, some are naturally bigger and some are naturally thinner than others!. You sound like you lean towards the thin side, but you are obviously healthy so I don't think there's anything to worry about!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You're on the low end of normal, but you're normal!. You don't have to worry!. BMI isn't even a good measure of how healthy your weight is!. It's just a guideline based on insurance statistics and doesn't take into account things like body fat percentage and muscle mass!.
Using the Harris-Benedict equation for estimating how many calories you're supposed to get in a day and putting your info in I get about 2800!. That's also just a guideline and you don't need to add or cut a meal if that number doesn't match what you're eating!.
You should really calm down about this!. If your dr!. says you're fine and you're as active and health-conscious as you say you shouldn't have any issues at all!. You're light years ahead of average and most average people do just fine!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
