1!. dont work out everyday, at last 5 times a week!.
2!. drink water, lots and lots of water!
3!. dont skip breakfast, lunch, or dinner!. i recommend to have oatmeal for breakfast and fruit for lunch!.
4!. skip letterman!. if you dont sleep 8 hours, your muscles wont have much rest!.
5!. get off the floor!. do excercises that require both being on the floor and off the floor!.

Getting six pack or ripped abs is quite simple - even if it isn't easy!
First you will need to work out - often ab specific exercises aren't necessary, as a good whole body work out will also work the abs!.
Second you need to lower your body fat percentage so that the abs show through rather than being covered by a layer of fat!.
How long this will take depends on where you start from, and how much work you put in!
If you want to develop your abs then I recommend getting a good book about it so that you can find the best diet and exercise and tailor it to your own needs!. A great review site that has found the three best books is here:

any ab exercises will make beautiful abs but in order to flatten the tummy and see definition you'll need to burn any fat on the stomach!.!.!.!.!.!.!.that is one of the reasons why people do crunches, sit ups etc!. and do not see results!. any type of cardio will work
