When and how much protein powder should I take before/after my workouts?!

Question: When and how much protein powder should I take before/after my workouts!?
I'm starting to workout to gain muscle!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
It depends on how hard you're working out!. You can digest about 20-25g of protein in one sitting, but having more when you workout, depending on how hard you worked out, you can absorb more!. You do need to take in some quick carbs, like glucose, dextrose, or fructose to help repair your glycogen stores!.

Taking a whey protein shake after your workout allows your body to absorb protein within that 1-hour post-workout window, as whey digests in about 30 minutes!.

As for what Sam said, protein powder is not "synthetic" protein anymore than powdered milk is "synthetic" milk!. It is a dehydrated version of milk that targets the whey protein!. It's essentially powdering the liquid in cottage cheese!. It is a natural protein!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Pre-workout (30 minutes before):
20g whey protein
40g slow burning carbs

Note: don't use milk in your pre-workout shake as it contains casein protein which is a slow burning protein!. This will delay the proteins getting into your system!.

Post-workout (immediately after your workout):
20g whey protein
20g casein protein (optional)
40g fast burning carbs

Note: The fast burning carbs can be from a sports drink as your body is going to be looking for an insulin spike to get these nutrients to your muscles as quickly as possible!.

Good luck!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I've taken protein consistently for roughly 2 years!. From what I've found, the best way to do it is 30 mins before your workout or within 30 mins after!. In addition, you should still drink a shake every morning (I consider mine my breakfast)!.

If whey protein is what you're going for, I'd suggest Isopure!. It's an isolate with zero carbs and limited fat and sugar!. That said, I'd be more inclined to steer you in the direction of plant proteins as these are significantly more healthy and do more to enhance muscle synthesis!. Buckwheat proteins and hemp proteins (and no, you won't get high) have had the greatest affect on my workouts in terms of building lean muscle and simultaneously losing fat!. Stacking with creatine monohydrate (pills not powder) will give you even greater results!.

Finally, you should also look into what's commonly known as the Abs Diet!. This is a group of power foods that help build muscle and burn fat while supporting and maintaining overall good health!. I've left links to each of these in my source list!.

Good luck!

PS - my personal recommendation: stay away from stimulants!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Alright well first of all you always have protien after your workout!. No matter how much of it you have before it doesn't matter!. You want your muscles to grow so have it after!. Atleast an hour!.

Atleast 25 grams should be good!. If you really want to put on muscle faster you should eat protien bars after the workout!. But if it is taken in over an hour after you workout the muscles won't be building!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

20g of protein within 30 minutes of a workout is all you need, take it with milk to add more grams of protein

whey protein is actually better than food for your body after a workout, after a workout your body is going to utilise anything you put into it to the maximum and whey protein is good for this as it is rich in protein and low in carbs to give your muscles what they need to heal!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Why don't you just eat protein rich foods instead of stuffing your body full of synthetic powder!?Www@Answer-Health@Com
