My Boyfriends Mother cooks very salty and fatty foods, and she wont change!?!

Question: My Boyfriends Mother cooks very salty and fatty foods, and she wont change!!?
My Boyfriends mother cooks overly salty, overly fatty and puts way too much butter and cream in her cooking!.!.!.

i saw her put a bit more than half a block of butter in a saucepan in order to melt it, and asked her why so much, she then said because it tastes nice when you put it in rice!.!.!.

then it started to burn so i assumed she forgot about it and i took it off the flame!.!.!. she then asked who turned off the butter and i owned up and said "it was starting to burn" so thats why i took it off!.!.!. to my surprise she said thats how i make it!.!.!.

she literally snapped at me and said "i let it burn for a while because it tastes better"

i couldn't eat her rice after she said that, as a matter of fact i refuse to eat most of what she cooks after that!.!.!.

My boyfriend is now lactose intolerant and my boyfriends dad was just diagnosed with diabetes, and his younger brother get unexplained stomach aches!.!.!.

how do i tell this stubborn woman that she is killing off her family!?

Answers:
She's probably quite set in her ways and has absolutley no intention of changing!. All I can suggest is having a doctor and a dietician talk to her about the way she cooks and pray that she tries a little harder to make the effort to keep her family alive!. I'm sure there are plenty of health specialists who'd be more than happy to talk to this woman!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

tell her if she wants to die of congestive heart failure the way she is killing pops, then go ahead!.!.!.!. and that you "have already eaten" , "not hungry" or better yet straight up that you are unhappy with the nutritional deficit in her cooking and you elect to not eat the high fat foods she providesWww@Answer-Health@Com

it is hard to change someone!.!.!. just keep not eating her food and try to encourage her husband and kids to do the same!. education is the key, telling her won't change her but maybe a few good books on diet and diabetes will help!. all that fat and sugar probably caused the diabetes and will certainly make it worse!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Ha! My dad's the same way! I tried to help him and said "Dad, these chips have too much salt" and all he said was "I like 'em sawlty! (new york accent)"

He makes this dinner I call the heart attack special!. Tons of salt and butter in mashed potatoes, red meat barely cooked and beer!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

next time you go to her house, you can offer to help her cook (and alter the recipes), or you can offer to bring some of your own food to share with everyone!\ ( like a pot luck)!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Stop eating her food very simpleWww@Answer-Health@Com

lol, oh my god good luck all i have to say!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

wow I really don't know how to answer this!.!.!. have you spoken to your boyfriend about it!? maybe you should try talking to him so he can talk to his mum and say your killing the family dads already on his way to death and you cooking fatty foods isn't about to make it any better because it obviously needs to stop!. Maybe offer to help her cook or bring a salad or a pot of something and say I thought this would be a good side dish or something!. OR you and your boyfriend could offer to cook for a while whenever you go over

Good luck =-]Www@Answer-Health@Com

I guess they have lived that way for so many years no one os gonna change her!.!.!. unless something happens to her, she prolly wont change!.!.!. I wouldnt worry about it as the food that she cooks prolly isnt no wwhere near as bad as foods other ppl cook!.!.!. I am assuming she is ethinic as alot of ethnics eat taht way and also stubborn!.!. Ethinics have a way of proving a lot of ppl wrong!. It may be fattening, but it sure is yummy!.!.!.!. just bring on the ouzo and you'll be laughing!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The reasons you give are all good ones!. tell your boyfriend to talk to his mom about a pattern he's noticing with the familys health!. Make him be sincere about it and act as if he really cares and notices about the recent health changes!. Have him and his mom try to find a solution to the problem together, and then have him throw the idea of her unhealthy cooking out there, she's likely to see it in a different light!. It's important to be nice though, cause that's all she's trying to do by cooking dinner!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
