running is the best workout you can do to burn the most calories in the shortest amount of time!. However, it is also the worst for you as far as joints and knees are concerned and damage to your body!. Both are good!. Treadmill burns more, but bike has less strain on your knees and burns enough if you do it for about 30 to 45 minutes!. Overall biking burns about 100 calories less than running in the same amount of time!. I'd alternate just to give your knees a break :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you're looking at buying a treadmill or a bike then also consider elliptical trainers!. They burn much more calories (14 cals per minute) and you can find really quiet ones!. Mine doesn't make any noise at all, great for my apartment!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I would actually opt for the cross trainer as it exercises both legs and arms and burns off more calories in a shorter space of time!. A treadmill is more supportive to the knees which is a plus for me with my bad knees!.

i run the streets, running is the best i think cycling is a bit lazy because your sitting!.
i prefer to get out and do a run, go and see things although not much to look at around my area but when i increase my track distance i will see more!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Treadmills give you a more cardiovascular work out (it makes your heart beat faster) and exercise bikes make your legs stronger as well, but don't make your heart beat as fast!. So, depending on what you want, either one could be better!. Hope this helped!Www@Answer-Health@Com
I find the treadmill is more effective as you are using more muscles!. I do mix the two, but usually find the more satisfying part of my workout is from the treadmill!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
