For a 13 year old it is probably an ideal diet as it includes all animal protein (meat, fish, eggs, dairy products and so on) and growing kids need plenty of animal protein!. Apparently you have already stopped growing so your growth plates must be closed if your doctor is actually correct!.

The Atkins diet does not permit starchy carbohydrates such as bread, cereals, pasta, rice, potatoes, sweet potatoes, carrots, beans, peas, lentils or nuts but non-starchy carbohydrates are permitted and these include most fruit and vegetables with a few exceptions!.

You can get a whole book on the Atkins diet from health stores and the Atkins diet is supposed to have a high success rate!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

YES it is very healthy for everyone!. The problem is most people say they are doing Atkins when they are not!. They don't understand it isn't just low carbs, but the diet consists largely of vegetables! In the first phase of the diet, you have to eat 15 grams of NET carbs in veggies!. That is harder than it sounds!. Because you have to eat that much!. It isn't anything like people think it is all meat and cream and butter and nothing else!. I lost 120 lbs on Atkins following it properly and my cholesterol and blood pressure did great!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

All diets are unhealthy!. It doesn't make any sense to diet unless you only want to lose weight for a short period of time!. As soon as you stop dieting you'll regain the weight!. It is better to cut out all junk and fatty foods!. And stick to healthy nutritious foods and juices and water!. Since you already excercise it shouldn't be too hard!. Good Luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Make your own diet!. I'm 17!. I'm 5'11 and i was 190 pounds all fat!. Now im 160 pounds all muscle!.
Drink PLENTY OF WATER NO SODAS!! Workout at the gym 3-5 times a week and run a lot and also watch your calorie intake!. Figure out how much calories you need to maintain your weight and then subtract that number by 400-500 calories!. Remember to lose 1 pound you have to have a decrease of 3500 calories!. Hope this helps!!

Good Luck!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

its not healthy for a kid, its barely healthy for most adults!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
