Is the Navy's "Body Fat Percentage Estimator" flawed?!
Question: Is the Navy's "Body Fat Percentage Estimator" flawed!?
I tried the online body fat estimator and got a pretty high number!. Based on my height and weight (6'2" and 195lbs)
it said my body fat percentage was 24!.25%!.
That is just below obese!. I work out a lot and have a fair bit of muscle, and no gut!. You can't see my abs without a little flexing, but I don't have much of a gut!. I know it's an esimator, but does that seem like an accurate fat percentage for a person my size who lift's weights 3-4 times a week and rides a bike for 5+ hours a week!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

I served 20 years in the Navy, and retired!. I was a victim of the Navy's flawed "Body Fat percentage Estimator"!. It consistently measured my body fat at 26%, although the Air Force used calipers that measured my body fat at 18%, and a dunk tank that measured it at 21%!. The Navy's chart was concocted by some Navy Medical Corps admiral, and the Navy insists it is accurate, although even other Navy doctors say it is not!. Don't use it!.!.!.it is a piece of sh*t! The Navy just can't get out of the way of it's own ego to admit the the chart is flawed!Www@Answer-Health@Com
All of those online estimators are unreliable!. The closest result you can come across would be one which takes specific measurements!. The "enter height and weight" thing is just so flawed and simplistic that I can't even imagine it being even remotely correct!. From your description, it's probably half of that!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
