Wow, starting gymnastics! That's wonderful!.
Don't fret about the single pushup for now!.Do the knee pushup, then progress to full pushup!.
There are an infinite variety of pushups, so go to YouTube and practice all the different styles eg elevated, diamond, knuckle, spiderman etc!.
For gymnatics you will be really training your core, so that calls for planks and side planks, and again the different varieties!.
Do chinups or pullups to balance the pushups!. Go to handstands and cartwheels!.
Actually yoga poses are fantastic for muscular strength and control!.
Swimming also builds up ur strength especially crawls!.
Sleep well, drink plenty of water and eat healthily ie no junk!Www@Answer-Health@Com

You are going to need carbs for energy and lean protein to help you build muscle!. Try doing some isometric exercises to build strength!. You don't need equipment or anything, you use your body weight and stationary objects, See link below for exercises -- be sure to scroll to the bottom of the page!.

Also, go to your local library to check out exercise DVDs!. Yoga and Pilates will help you with your flexibility and building your core muscles!. Aerobics will help build your endurance!.

Finally, build up to doing regular pushups!. Start by doing pushups against a wall!. Do 3 sets of 15 and move your feet a few inches from the wall everyday!. When you are able to hold your weight, move to the floor and do modified pushups ("girl" pushups) with your knees on the floor!. The next week do regular pushups!.

Eventually you will be able to build up your strength!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

im 12 years old too, but i'm really fit!. i'm 80 pounds & 4'9!. ok, i know!.!. im short!. but that's only cuz i took gymnastics for 5 years and it made me short!. ok, just cuz ur 12 doesn't mean you can't go to the gym!. there should be a local gym or YMCA around where you live!. in the YMCA, there's a youth fitness!. they have machines that will strengthen all muscles!. if you don't want to go to a fitness, then here's another alternative: take swimming classes!.!.!.it's summer anyway! swimming strengthens your upper body AND your legs!. I took swimming lessons for 6 years!. if you are not able to go to any activities, then do things at home: do sit-ups and run in place!. and NEVER eat RIGHT before you go to sleep!. like don't eat something and then put your covers on!. thats the worst thing to do!. wutever you eat builds up in your stomach, and if you go to sleep, it doesnt have to time to be properly digested and ready to come out!. it just sits on the sides of your stomach!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I had the same problem I am 16 and I have been doing gymnastics since I was 6 and I just conditioned my self and You need to try using weights and running with them I have to run a mile a day for gymnastics you probably dont have to do the same thing!. I had to start conditioning myself when I was 8 yrs old so I hope I helped you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

eat some carbs, because they'll give you energy!. And do as many situps or pushups as you can everyday, because if you can't do even one pushup, there is only one way to go, and that's up!.

Hope this helps!. Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com
