Here's the secret, and most other runner's will kill me for saying it, but it really doesn't matter!. Running and walking have similar health benefits and both burn roughly the same number of calories per unit distance!. So do which ever one you prefer!.

You burn approx!. 100 calories per mile for either running or walking!. The difference is that running is simply faster than walking!.

So say you have 1 hour to exercise!.
- A runner will typically cover 6-8 miles in an hour, so they will burn 600-800 calories in that hour!.
- A walker will typically cover only 3-4 miles in an hour, so they will burn just 300-400 calories in an hour!.

So running typically burns more calories per hour than walking, but you can fit in periods of walking throughout the day!. To go running, you need speical shoes and clothes and dedicate time to running!. Walking doesn't require all that special gear!. Most people can fit it extra walking by making small changes!. Park in farther away spots when shopping, choose to take the stairs instead of the elevator, walk to close by destinations!. Over the course of a day, you could easily walk 5-6 miles without really trying!.

So do which ever you want and which ever fits into your lifestyle better!. They are both excellent forms of exercise and will burn off calories to help you lose weight!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Like mentioned above, its all about distance!. 1 mile is 1 mile no matter how you get there (unless you're walking on your hands - probably burn more calories that way) but if you walk part of the distance and run the other, same calorie burn!. Most people exercise fo 30 minutes!. Try exercising for 3 miles!. Don't over exert though or you'll lose interest!. Walk it if you must, just, sorry for the cliche, go the distance!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

you cant spot train off fat unfortunately!. it would be nice!.

when comparing the two, it works like this!. base it on distance!. so if you walk a mile in 20 minutes, but run it in 7, you'll lose the exact same!.

if you can keep running for like 30-45 minutes (or even more) you'll lose more!. but if walking is all you can handle, at least do that!.

good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

To lose weight in your stomach spinning is better than running or walking!. Your diet should be balanced, also!. My clients eat three meals a day that includes high protein, low carb, fruit, veggies and plenty of water!. Inch loss is the best part of my program and clients usually go down a size each month!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

A combination of both works best!. Your speeding up your matab very fast by doing so!. SO if you walk for lets just say 1min then jog for 2 back and forth for 20-30mins you will drop for sure thats what I do and so far I am getting great resultsWww@Answer-Health@Com

I believe a little of both- you burn fat at a lower resistance!. You benefit your heart at a higher resistance!. But if you run some you can raise your fat burning threshold, then walk for a while!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You can't target one area!. When you exercise, you lose fat all over your body equally!.

Running burns calories faster than walking!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
