Eating problems... please help!?!


Question: Eating problems!.!.!. please help!!?
i have some problems that i am aware of and have developed over several months (probably since March or April)

i am 14 and 5'6, and i am overweight but recently i have lot about 20 lbs (from 145 to 125lbs) but i look at myself, and feel i need to lose more!. people have said i would look better at 100lbs, and i agree!.

the problem is that i have lost the weight unhealthily - i love the feeling of being hungry, and over the weight loss period i only ate about 500-1200 calories a day!. i keep this a secret, and i don't like to tell other people!. i don't why i have this attitude towards this!.

the actual question is what is wrong with me!? i don't think that it is an eating disorder, but the love of feeling hungry is disturbing!

If you are 5'6 and 125lb you are most certainly NOT overweight, in fact you wasn't even overweight at 145lb!.

Your BMI is 20!.2 which is at the low end of the 'healthy weight' spectrum!. Whoever told you that you would look better at 100 pounds needs their head seeing to! You would look ill and extremely be extremely unhealthy!.

By eating only 500-1,200 calories a day you have been starving your body and you are also now displaying signs (such as secretiveness and denial) that suggest you are in fact developing an eating disorder!.

There are many medical conditions that can cause a lack of appetite but by stating you feel and enjoy the sensation of hunger it is more likely a psychological issue!.

My advice is to seek help now!.

Eating disorders are dangerous and deadly!. Please talk to someone ( such as a doctor, teacher, school nurse, parent or guardian) as soon as possible!.

It sounds like your on you way to having a eating disorder!. Your probably not done growing and will get taller which will make you look thiner!. The feeling of being hungery is your bodies way of telling you it need to be replenished, by not eating your are starving your self which is a form of a eating disorder, you need to talk to someone, and eat before you damage your body and develop a problem you will keep for the rest of your life!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Don't do that to yourself!.
Starving is not the solution!. Its how you and what you do!.

Try to do some sports and activities that require you to move!.

You are not overweight sweetie!. You should weigh 100 pounds for the first 5 feet and 5 pounds per inch after that (at the least) !. I have always been very thin and had weight and food "issues"!. You might not have an eating disorder yet- but it sounds like you are working on it!. I developed an eating disorder when I was in college and it still crops up when I am stressed!. You are perfect the way you are!. Don't let food overtake your life!. You are so young, enjoy it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

it is an eating disorder!. starving yourself or making yourself throw-up for the purpose of weight loss is an eating disorder!. to be honest I'm bulimic!. I love to eat but I get so paranoid after eating a bunch that a walk a mile from my house to a secluded spot to throw up!.!.!.then walk back home!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

ok i know how it is!. ive done the whole eating disorder thing!. not fun!. the average girl that is 5'7" is about 135 pounds!. you're not over weight!. if you want to tone up or sonething go for it but eating disorders are not the way to go!. if you're hungary just eat some cheerios and an apple or something!. you lose more weight when you eat than if you dont eat at all!.

Even if it's not a full-blown eating disorder, it seems to be on the way there!. I would recommend going for professional advice now before it gets any worse!. Go to a medical professional first, as enjoying the feeling of being hungry might be a medical problem!. It's a good sign that you are hungry (lack of hunger is often a sign of serious medical problems), but definitely not good that you enjoy that feeling!.

If that doesn't turn anything up, then go for psychological help!. The socio-emotional part of your brain may be tricking you into thinking you enjoy feeling hungry since you are hearing from different sources that it would be better for you to be 100lbs (I'm 5'6" and would never consider dropping below 125, btw)!. Therefore, you're brain may subconsciously be thinking, "I feel hungry, that must mean I'm making progress!."

Really, and you understand this, "making progress" would be getting healthy!. If my theory is right, then you have to turn off that part of your brain that equates hunger with progress/success!.
