Question: Other than sit ups, what is a good exercise to tone one's stomach!?
Answers:
If you are trying to get a slimmer tummy, sit-ups alone will not do the job!. You need to strenghten the whole of your body core which includes your back muscles and obliques (side waist)!. Combine straight situps with a twisting motion to tone your obliques and do back raises to tone the opposing muscles!.

The best EVER excercise to give you a flat stomach is Running!. A couple of weeks of getting out there and you will see more difference than many weeks of situps!. Running will not bulk up your stomach muscles like situps could, but will tone and pull in your whole core and waist!.

If running is not your thing, second best is getting into the pool!. But above all else combine any excercise with a good diet and increase the amount of water you drink!.!.!. I have found thet drinking water!.!.!. loads of it through out the day helps with losing weight! It keeps your stomach feeling full and eases hunger pangs but it also makes your body increase the rate that it excretes fluids and waste toxins!. Swimming is a great workout for the whole body also running and will help you lose some fat which will make your abs more visible!.!.!. there are many exercises that help strengthen your stomach like crunches, lunges, declined sit ups, and weighted crunches or sit ups!. Those combined with running or swimming will tone up your stomach nicely!. Also keep in mind a healthy diet and proper rest is just as important to your stomach as the exercise Www@Answer-Health@Com

Try power walking every day, and, if you are able to get to a Pilates matwork class, this will lengthen, strengthen & tone your body - in particular your mid-section!.

If you are self-conscious about your tummy, look at your body and decide what you like best, then make the most of your favourite area!.

If your tummy is your problem area, don't wear anything that is going to make this look fat!. Show off your good bits, that way no one will notice your imperfections and think you look fab!

As a further thought: Sit ups, in my opinion, are a waste of time!. You will not create a nice sleek abdominal area doing sit ups!. You will however create a bulkier muscle, which may make your tummy look a little bigger! Sit ups are rather like doing bicep curls for the tummy muscles!

crunches!. or get a big excersise ball and do crunches on those or sit ups it makes them easier and way more productive!.!.!.i found that out the hard way! try it!. they are cheap at target or wal mart! lol!. and lunges also they help kinda but they also tone the thighs! good luck excerciseing! lol and bicyclye works really well if you know what that is!. look it up and try it!. they are really helpful!. and holding yourself up on one side and not touching the floor kinda hard to explain but that tones your stomach real quick! :pWww@Answer-Health@Com

LOWER leg lifts!.its when you layflat on your back head to the flood and lift your legs from 6-12 inches above the ground and hold until you physically cant anymore!. MID TO UPPER planks!. its when you get in a puch up position kind of!. except your on your elbows and hold your hands together on the ground making a point shape kind of!. then hold that until you physically cant anymore!. SIDES you lay on your side and put your forearm to the ground holding your body up with the side of your foot and forearm and hold that until you cant anymore once again!. do that for both sides!. That is what we do for core workout, for both football and lacrosse!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think that every exercise you do uses your stomach muscles!.!.!.i do a lot of different exercises and i just keep my stomach tight while i do them!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
