What are good exercises to build leg muscle besides squats..!


Question: What are good exercises to build leg muscle besides squats!.!.
i know squats are good but when u do them how much weight should i use!?!? and what are other good exercises to tone thighs and calves!.!.!.thanks :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

i hate squats!.!.!.my legs pop and it hurts and im to short and its weird!.!.!.i cant do it right!.!.!.i could do them at first!.!.!.!.but i cant anymore for some odd reason
so 45 degree LEG PRESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
those things blasted my quads in a few weeks!.!.!.!.i can do 860 6 times for 3 sets!.!.!.i started doing 600 4 times for 3 sets and that was 4 weeks ago!!!
my quads grew a few inches
man you need to do it!.!.!.unless its just me!.!.!.cuz they say its not as effective as squats cuz they work like everything (lower back, abs, quads, hamstrings, blah blah blah) and then leg press is just for quads
but nothing a few heavy sets of leg pressing, some heavy stiff legged deadlifts cant fix!!!!!!!!!!!!

well squats dont work calves
if you want to work them do standing calve raises with a bar on your shoulders filled with weight!.!.!.try to do it on a smith machine if possible its alot easier
and sitting calve raises
and 45 degree leg press calve raises
do like 2 sets of each at 6-8 reps and your setttttt

and a chair instead of the ball!.!.!.and something to put under your feet like your toe part kinda hard to explain again
so that you get a full stretch of the muscle make sure its high enough so you can make your heel not be able to touch the floor
you go all the way down with your feet then all the way back up

Biking up and down hills is a great exercise to build or tone legs!. If you have a long flight of steps (like in Rocky) running up and down those are great for the legs and the heart!. Swimming will help tone the whole body, but it has to be real swimming - not just playing around in the water!. Don't forget that you have a whole body - not just legs!. Remember also that as you build muscle, you may weigh more, but you will be losing fat!. Muscle is heavier than fat so don't get dismayed!. Sking (water right now) and snow (later in the year) is good for the legs - cross country snow sking will build both legs and arms, plus increase lung capacity and improve heart function!. Have fun!
Have you ever tried squatting and walking around!? Sort of like a duck walk - but I wouldn't try this in a group - someone will be ready with a "quack quack"!

There are calculations you can do to find out how much weight you should be doing when you are squating!. Ask a trainer at the gym and they will help you, then tell you what weight you should be doing!.

Other good exercises include, leg press, lunges, and if you dont like squating that much they do box squats, which are good to get your technique proper!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

its just something u find out thru experience!.!.
If u hav a smith machine do squats on that, if not try a safety rack/power rack!. I wud use either of those machines before you do weighted squats without support, cuz if u hav neuromuscular failure then your screwed!
Prob best exercise to do is lunges!. i hate them so immensely but they work all your legs including your butt!. Leg press is good, if u hav a good leg press machine which most gyms are lacking!.
Calf raises, seated and standing!. Hamstrings (lying/standing) straight legged deadlift/deadlift

I find that walking uphill helps to tone my legs, thighs, calves and butt!. Usually between half an hour and an hour a day!. As for the weight, do what you feel comfortable doing without hurting yourself!. Start at a low weight, then work your way up!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Forget about all those long answers!. You should try speed skipping and best thing is it's free once you have a 10 dollar rope!. But it's not easy to keep them up as people think!.
