Question: On food labels: Does the 'fat' content include all fats like saturated and trans!?
So if under the 'fat' content if it says 8 grams and theres 6 grams of saturated fat, would there be 8 grams in total (6 saturated, and 2 'normal') or would there be 14!? Www@Answer-Health@Com
Answers:
the bold FAT would be the total grams of combined fat!. Underneath that, it should say how many grams of saturated, polyunsaturated, trans, and monounsaturated!. The bold fat will be a total of all of those if they arent regular fats!. But yes, 8 grams would be correct!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Be very carefully!. Many foods are labeled as NO trans-fats but they can contain up to !.5 gm per serving!. If you take chips, I can eat 10 servings!. That is 5 gms of trans-fat!. The allowable amount of trans-fat in the diet is zero!. You can tell if there are trans-fats by reading the ingredients!. Hydrogenated oils are the same as trans-fats!. On the other hand, saturated fats are the stable and natural fats that you should be seeking out!. Sounds nuts but I have studied this subject extensively!.
