And i am positive i want to go on birth control and i live in the state of florida!. i have had sex about 1 time but i no i am ready and everything!. But i don't want to talk to my mom i am kind of a secretive person and i hate talking to my mom about anything to do with sex i learned it all in school and of course we have already had the talk!. well anyways i was wondering how old do you have to be to go on the pill without parental consent in florida!?!?!?!? Please answer and plus if there are idiots out there that say I'm to young!. I'm not to young i no i am ready and you are not in my mind wither to say i am to young or not so i don't want you rude opinions cause you don't here me saying how to live your life so if you are like that don't answer this question cause i don't want your nonsense!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Unfortunately i think that it is 18 just about everywhere in the US!. Do you have a planned parenthood somewhere around you!. Go to their website to find out you can type in your zip and it will show you the locations!. I am sure you know that yes you have to go to the gynocologist and get a papsmear in order to recieve, the pill, nuva ring, depo shot, ect!. There is nothing wrong with wanting to be on birth control !! :) lots of ppl take the pill for things other than sex, ya know like regulation purposes and acne!. I know that this is important to you and i know this is tough but i don't think there is really a way to get on birth control without a parent's consent until you are legally an adult!. Maybe you could just tell her that you want to take it because your period is irregular!. Then you could tell the doc that you need it because you are sexually active!. I don't believe the doc would tell your mom because of the patient privacy policy but i don't know all the details!. I know how you are being secretive and all, gosh, it took me FOREVER to tell my mother i was sexually active and i am a grown woman about to get married!!! Some of us girls are just like that with their privacy, but trust me my mom didn't judge me she understood what i was going through!. I don't know your mom though so i don't know how she would act!. But i know that if you were my daughter, i would rather you tell me then risk getting pregnant!. Would you rather get pregnant and then have to tell your mom that you have been having sex and got pregnant or would you rather take care of this like an adult before you run your risk of teenage pregnancy!. Remember, sex is for adults and so if you are going to have sex you need to act like an adult!. Talk to a parent, i know it is akward it is for everyone but it is definately for the best!!!! I wish you all the strength and courage to stand up to the plate, it is not easy being a teen!. You just gotta tell her, and trust me once you do you will feel so much better!. try calling you local health department and ask if you can!.

I'm 15 also, starting birth control!. In Florida, yes you can obtain birth control without parental consent!. Good luck!
