How can i put a stop to possible emotional eating!


Question: How can i put a stop to possible emotional eating
So, i guess this would be considered a diet question, but it might be considered mental health too!.

I always try to follow a healthy diet, but I've been stressed about the upcoming school year and having dreams about the first day!. i also noticed that i keep wanting to eat more at dinner than I normally would (especially sweets) regardless of the calorie content!. I suddenly don't care as much!. I haven't noticed any weight gain, but I don't want to!.

Emotional eating is hard to control, and it is something that affects many people (especially women!)!. One thing that helps me is to pre-measure my food before I start eating it!. 100 calorie packs are good (I also like the mini Dove ice cream bars), but expensive!.!.!. you can sort-of make your own when you buy snack foods, by putting it into plastic baggies!.

Try to eat healthier things like fruit when you are feeling more apt to want to increase your sweet intake!.

Try another activity like dancing, exercising, playing games, painting, etc!. (something you find rewarding)!.

Another way to help this out is to eliminate some of the stressors, by preparing for your first day way ahead of time (get all of your books together, maybe start looking over some of the material ahead of time, get your clothes planned out, etc!.) so that you aren't as worried about those types of things and you can enjoy the rest of your summer!

Also, if you notice that you are super stressed (it sounds to me like it is a reasonable level of stress, but it is hard to tell with text) it might be a good idea to see a therapist, or talk to a doctor about it!.

i'm an emotional eater as well!.if you just started you need to stop the cycle before it gets worst!.and sweetie it will!.so stop now by eating your meals slowly and eat whats in your plate and get up and move away !.when you want to eat emotionaly try walking,cleaning,listen to some music that you like,are get on your computer like me and try helping others in something that you know!. it helps to take your mind off of wanting to eat and the up coming school year! it's the same as last year, just a different grade or school!.you'll be ok!.good luck sweetie you can do it!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Don't try and think about it!. If you are think about the fun and good things about school! You could always take your mind off of school by having fun! Go outside! Play with friends, see a movie, play games, play with your family, go swimming, etc! Don't think about school and don't think about food! Everything will go great!. It's summer so enjoy summer! Two words "self control" that is the only thing that will work!. it also depends on if you are eating more out of gluttony or if you are actually still hungry!. you might want to chill out on the sweets though because when your metabolism slows you'll put on a few pounds!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I'm an emotional eater also!. What I ask myself is "How will I feel after I eat this item!?" If I feel the guilt is too much, I leave it alone!. However, sometimes the guilt is an escape for me and I give in!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
