I have trouble losing weight even though I seem to be doing everything right?!

Question:

I have trouble losing weight even though I seem to be doing everything right?

I'm 4'11" and weigh 113lbs. Everybody tells me that I eat like a bird and I think I eat a lot less than the average person. But I just can not lose weight anymore. At my highest I weighed 129 pounds and that was when I first started cutting down my portion size (bout 2 yrs back) and I lost about 10 pounds, but put it back on my freshmen year in college. But a year later, I cut back my portions and came down to 113 pounds and I've been able to maintain it for a year and counting. I also started running. At one point I was running/walking 5-6 miles about 3-4 times a week. But I found out that when I'm running, I can never lose weight whereas just cutting back the food shows better results.

I want to run though. It makes me feel like I'm doing something right. But it's so frustrating. I have to either eat less and lose weight or run and NOT lose weight.

Can anybody help me? I don't know what to do anymore.

I'm 20 now and my weight has been on my mind 24/7 ever since I was 14. I'm really sick of everything at this point.

I've been less than 1200 calories more or less everyday. That has pretty much become my lifestyle. So lately I've been having to eat even less than that to actually see any weight loss. I've done a bit of reading and I'm thinking my body might be in starvation mode and got used to surviving just on 1200 calories. ugh!

Answers:

Well I will give you a very quick rundown... because I'll be late to work.. But I myself have wanted to lose weight.. So I feel for you.. Quick body physic statement... You have a metabolism that burns calories from your body.. the more often you eat and exercise the faster it goes. The magic word is calories. you should eat at least 5 times a day. don't forget to include you fruits and veggies. Your daily intake of calories given your size should be around 1500-1700 calories.. Soda is a big no no when dieting.. one bottle of mountain dew has 500 calories by itself..... Now knowing that your not taking in to many calories.. You need to look at what your eating and also excercise. Here is a list of super foods. The fourteen superfoods can help prevent type II diabetes, hypertension, certain cancers, obesity and Alzheimers.

THE FOURTEEN SUPER FOODS ARE:
BEANS SOY
BLUEBERRIES SPINACH
BROCCOLI TEA, GREEN OR BLACK
OATS TOMATOES
ORANGES TURKEY
PUMPKIN WALNUTS
SALMON YOGURT
I try to eat several foods from this list daily. I do not subscribe to any diet that starves your body.. that includes atkins because you are essentially starving your body of carbs. carbohydrates are what get your motor running. you need these for working out. I honestly believe that you are not so much concerned about your weight but so much as how you look. Take some time and go to your local Barnes & Noble go to the health and fitness section. You should be able to find some books by womens health that contain different excercises/ calorie intake/ recipies These are tools you can use to help you formulate a plan of attack to help you get that body you always wanted. dieting alone will not help starving yourself only will make you feel like crap.... I dont know if I have been of any help... but I do wish you luck.. and hope you succeed
