What is in Gatorade that make's it a "thirst quencher"?!


Question:

What is in Gatorade that make's it a "thirst quencher"?

I know Powerade has Vitamins like B12 etc.. but Gatorade is seemingly just sugar water and food coloring. So what separates it from plain old Kool-aid?
