I have a problem when it comes to eating!?

Ok so I am curently trying to loss weight, not in any fast hurry, and I am trying to take on eating in portion sizes to help me reach my goal. My problem is that I always serve myself to much food and even when I know I am full and satisfied I still have this erg to keep on eating. This is a big problem because over some time I gain more weight and I need help. If you have any techniques to:
~help your self stop eating when you know your finished ~help stop bordom eating
~ and mid-night snacking

I will give points to the most helpful and thought out answer not to the person who writes the most!

well, i pretty much know how you feel.
i used to have the same problem! but i mainly ate b/c i had nothing else to do, but once i filled my schedule with things to do, i started dropping weight. but what really helped me was volleyball.. and i know that sounds really dumb, but activeness DOES help. i'm between a three and a four in pants, and i really like helping people who know how it felt so, you can email me anytime if you want some more tips.
but one true fact about losing weight is: staying active is key, and dieting doesnt really help but it can get you to a goal... but i went vegatarian for almost an entire year, and stopped and most of the weight came back. the problem about dieting is that if you dont continue it, it'll just come back and stay.. b/c i guess your body gets used to the diet and it just doesnt help. trust me. but it might help get you to a weight that will help you lose some weight, but i mean you'd have to be on a diet FOREVER to maintain that weight....

but yeah, i really hope this helped. i'm not that good at explaining things, but hey! i did my best lol. :)
